According to their official Twitter account, A Little Night Music will be changing their student rush policy on July 13:
"Student tickets will be available the day of the performance at the box office only. There is a limit of 2 tickets per valid student ID. All student rush tickets are $27.00 ($2.00 facility fee included) and are subject to availability. Cash or credit cards accepted."

I don't know what the previous policy was, so is this good or bad?

Previous policy was standing room so I guess this is good that they are giving students actual seats now
I hope that it's not up in the balcony, but we're poor students. We'll take whatever they're willing to offer us. It'll be nice to be able to sit down as opposed to standing through a three hour show.

This is very good! I can actually see the show with someone! The old policy was also 1 per id, so it made it very hard to see the show with a friend. I saw it twice standing alone.
This is excellent! Now I can actually have a seat AND bring someone with me!
Are we positive it will be actual seats? Someone should ask the box office.
It's been announced on their Twitter and Facebook pages as "new student rush policy," which makes me think it's different from the previous student SRO deal.
Well the old policy was one ticket, this one is two tickets.
This was the original policy
Student Rush Tickets are $27. They are available for same-day sales only at the box office. There is a limit of one ticket per person with valid identification.
It said nothing about standing room either. I hope the change isn't just an extra ticket per ID.
Anyway, I am assuming and hoping it is actual seats now.

Oh my gosh, that's awesome! My friend and I can go see that now!!! We wanted to go but because it was SRO and 1 per id, it was going to suck majorly. I am so happy now, I can't contain it! haha

When someone attempts this or talks to the box office, can they let us know if they are seats and where they will be located?

"Subject to availability" implies to me that they are planning on selling off anything unsold as of that morning. Of course that is speculation and I do not claim it to be a definitive answer.

Oh, crap- now I'll be there once a week... unless I'm in it lol (I auditioned today).
It doesn't say anywhere that they're actual seats. The old policy never said they were standing room either, it just said "...1 per valid ID..." so I don't think we canbe sure that they're actual seats.
The "standing room" information is from Playbill.
Now, Playbill didn't say it's "Standing Room Student Rush" but only "Student Rush," means that it probably is for actual seats, but I cannot say it IS for actual seats since the price is still the same. Supposedly, "General/Student Rush" and "Standing Room" are separated (look at Chicago).

Yes! I'm so happy about this! I'm also hoping that they're actual seats - I wouldn't mind the balcony either, I didn't think they were that bad and for only $27 I don't care. Hopefully someone can fill us in with more details soon.
It would not appear to be balcony, as there are seats available on telecharge (at the regular $57/ $52 price) in all sections of the balcony for a whole number of dates.

bwayluvsong, what did you try out for? What roles do they still have to fill?
Today was just a general open call...I believe.

Yeah, it was just an ECC for possible future replacements. There are no open roles as far as I know, but they do these so that they have a list of people to call back if and when replacements are needed.

Oh yeah, I know. I just meant that if I get a rush ticket and end up in the balcony I wouldn't mind. The balcony isn't set aside specifically for rush.
