You know, I've never heard that song before. Very funny. And Andrea does a great job
I've never heard it before either... super cute. Great job :)
I like both Andrea's and Emily's...are there any others?
It is a pretty brilliantly written song...the way they intelligently weave all the alto parts together, but somehow it is one cohesive tune.

Megan Hilty performed it at the Hurricane Katrina benefit at the Gershwin back in September and was absolutely amazing and hilarious! Plus, since she is known for her super high notes, it was nice to hear that she can sing alto with ease...that's actually the range she said she feels most comfortable singing in.

Yes, we all know Megan Hilty sang it.

I love Megan!!!! I would love to hear her version!
She is my very, very favorite GAAAAAAAlinda EVER....eeeeeeever!!!!!!!
ps..is this thing ON?!!!
I just listened to Andrea's sound clip and it's great! Wish I could have seen her performance live.
Andrea is awesome. In every sense of the word.
I must say that I like Andrea's version better than Emily's, and I love Emily's. Praise be to BSoBW2, oh and to Zina Goldrich &
Marcy Heisler for writing it.
"ps..is this thing ON?!!! "
Hahaha, I love her during that. My other personal favorite is "I will now turn your simple frock into a magnificent ballgown - oooooooooo!" She is literally too cute. And she is the nicest woman one can ever meet.
Andrea you are amazing! Best alto's lament ever!

Rosemary Ashe (Original Carlotta in POTO and most recently Mrs Andrews in MARY POPPINS) did a great version of this song during her cabaret.
Emily's version rocks, but I've always been partial to Marcy Heisler's own rendition

Her voice is beautiful.
And the song is so much better when you hit the note!
Andrea, what is this from?
hi there, my name is niamh and i just joined broadwayworld.com and i am now in love with all things andrea and all things coleen sexton! i have only just finished watching J and H that i got off ebay and i am in love with it. people like andrea and coleen just completely blow me away, how so much talent can reside in one person is incredible. ive been searching the internet for different pictures and songs sung by these two, because andrea and coleen are fast becoming two of my favourite broadway stars. i wish i could hit high notes like andrea can, they sound so pure and sweet. she is just amazing, there is no other word for it. because i live so far away its practically impossible 4 me 2 ever see andrea live and i realli enbey all the people that can see her. i never knew she was ill!! i really hope she is beter now because she'd be a great loss to musical theatre. how does everyone manage to contact her?
ANDREA IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE AMAZING!
I freaking hate the Alto's Lament...
Sry Ems will always win the best version. She brings soooooooo much character and life to that song.
Sorry BwayBaby, I think Andrea's version is better.
