The Honeymoon in Vegas thread was so much fun why not start a thread for another struggling show in the same theatre?
But in all seriousness how is this show still open? And when do we think they are gonna close?

@clyde, this is another one fo those shows with producers with more money than brains (like OTT and HinV). It will likely close whenever the Nederlanders need the theatre for the next tenant.
@pinto, I think it is time you learned about the strategic use of smiley faces.

I knew it was going to struggle before it even opened. Sometimes it just is so obvious to know if something is going to be a flop.

There's so many shows in out of town tryouts now that seem to be Broadway bound, you think the Nederlsnder would have so many shows knocking on their door

I hate to burst your bubble Philly but this will be long gone before the end of the year

I think the issue is that no one really cares about this story. I haven't seen or even heard too much about this show but if I was in NY I'd go see a show like Fun Home, Spring Awakening and Hand to God. (All of which I am seeing on my next trip).

Any thoughts on what might replace Amazing Grace at the Nederlander?

Any incoming show that tells the Nederlanders they want the theater.

Which is a shame because I thought it was excellent. The actors, the music and the effects were all outstanding.

Jersey
You could say the same thing about many shows and musical
In addition, a few on this board get visceral thrills when a show struggles and closes.

I would say you have a 50/50 chance it will be open.

I had noticed that.
My problem is I tend to enjoy almost everything I see; but Amazing Grace was one of my favorites this year.

Mr Roxy, I'll take those chances! I've already inquired about refund/exchange policies. I love the show but I'm also a realist!

I am sure the Nederlanders have a show lined up (and I am also sure they did not give it to anyone who wanted it.) AG was always just a summer fill-in by tyros doomed to failure until someone else was ready in the fall. There is no reason to push them out prematurely.

Arguably anything could transfer but I don't see Ever After succeeding without significant changes. That show has a split personality and like If/Then, one half is a lot weaker than the other.

You're probably right, but plenty of shows with deeply flawed books still open on Broadway regardless. Case in point: your own example, If/Then

I feel like I can't formulate my own opinion because I haven't heard the music or seen the show. All I have to go off of is promo's and reviews but if its truly bad as everyone says it is then it should close. Although everyone hated Zhivago and I love the score. Will a cast album be released for Amazing Grace?
