thanks wicked/fan for that run down i never can remember all the credits justin has and he has a really solid great background! most people don't no that!

Sunset, i can't believe they are still doing auditions the are really going to go down the to wire when the announce the cast and start rehersals! these kids will not have that much time to learn all of what they need to so they will need very quick studies for sure!

So Sunset, if u daughter does not get in this show i hope she does i wish her the best luck and cross my fingers also for her! U said she might work on a cruise ship then??? that is not a bad idea!

I don't no if u seen any of my post, but i did mention a while back i use to work at ClUB Med! they also do some shows there and productions and many people leave CLUB med and go to NY and work in theater! I also knew people that worked for Cruises and then came to work at club med too! I'm more a dry land person i get sea sick, so i went for club med! LOL!

either way she will make some money and meet people from around the world and it actually is a great experience to do for a year or two! many college grads from some of the best schools like Standford and even Berkley and etc...work at club med and also on cruise ships for a year or two !! so she would meet some amazing people if she did elect to do that! as long as she does not get Sea sick, i get sick on Boats so for me that was not an option!

u probably make more money on a Cruise ship not sure club med gave us room and board and at that time over 10 years ago they gave us $400 a month! u made more if u were in charge of a service ! I did the CIRCUS at club med ! we did Circus shows for the adults Trapeze and all the other circus events like spanish web, double trap and on and on, one show was also for only the Kids too, we put on two shows a week! they were a lot of fun and very well done they were canned shows all the clubs did the same show and music and costumes etc... we had to teach the kids the events and pick what kid would do well on what event and then teach all the kids the show and what to do! we did that each week and it was the best thing at the club people loved the Circus and the kids and even adults just went nutts over it! haha!

I also were in the other shows like Musicals and they do a lot of diff. shows at club med! u don't have to sing even though i did on occasion, they have the Music all set, but u do have to Dance and act some and u have to audition to be in the shows!

It's not anything serious and really all for Fun ! so it's a great atmosphere!
we had set designers and costome designers to make some of the costomes and lighting engineer and sound also! u do learn a lot even though it is club med it's great and fun experience and u learn what audiences like and what they don't cause they let u no ! lol

so if she does work at the cruise for a year or so then moves to NY that could work out nicely if that ends up being what she does!

I do hope she get's this show and i hope they tell her soon so she can make her plans of what she wants to do! Let us know if your Daughter does get in the show or either way!

JJ - not trying to be mysterious, just don't want to say until announcements are made. People (everyone!) who go on American Idol are made to sign the MOST disgusting contract. They pay you NOTHING and own you forever (or five years, whichever comes first.) It is the contract from hell, but if you can make it, you can do ok, I suppose. If someone else wants you, they have to buy your contract out at a ridiculous amount. This is almost like slavery!

Justin had no control I am sure over his first album. Let's hope his second is a success. He seems like a nice guy.

hi lynne! i was kidding u about the mystery thing i'm just bad at waiting and surprises! i like to look for my xmas gifts and shake them! lol

ur right about those Idol contracts, they are like Lou pearlman contracts from what i heard!

from what i do know as a fan of Justin's on his fan board, that He is very happy to be out of Slavery even if he has to start all over again and it takes time! Justin even got a Tatoo that symbolizes Freedom when he was with Rca cause he was soo frustrated and wanted out!

Justin is actually Lucky he only had a One year contract as runner up, so he is not chained down for 5 years with 19 and Rca!

I don't think Justin minds the hard work and having to Prove himself all over again, he really is a hard worker and Talented and wants to earn respect as time goes on!

I never met Justin, but many of his fans have and they have such great stories of how nice Justin is! He from what i gather has done some small performances appearances this year and he really loves to see his fans and keep in touch by getting out there ever so often and performing! He did some concert with Aaron Carter for one night a kids fest and he got to see a Ton of his fans there, and also at Vassar college Justin fans flew in from all over! His fans won't Desert him and they really go all out to attend the few things he does appear at! Justin did some Charity Hopsital event in May in Ohio and tons of fans contributed to the charity and attended the event!

He May have only sold 150,000 cd's which is not bad with not much promotion or distribution like the other idols, but his fan base is pretty strong and after Two years of hard ships his fans are still standing by him that say's a Lot about the person he is a good hearted person and the Talent his fans know Justin has!

I own his Cd, and even though it is a RCA idol cd, it is very clear when u hear Justin on CD that he has one amazing and beautiful recording voice which TV does not do him justice at all! even though u can only get Justin's CD on Amazon.com i still highly recommend it to people they normally like it once they hear Justin and are very surprised even ! TV sound system is not toooo good so it is very different to hear someone on CD then on TV...

At the risk of being chastized for making another Justin comment when obviously "this is not a Justin board," I want to thank you for carrying his torch. I've been a fan of his from the first moment he stepped on the American Idol stage and believe that he is now paying his dues and will be an entertainment success one day very soon. (I won't even begin to go on about the way he was treated -- make that NOT treated -- by RCA, et al, but his fans know the whole story and it's a shame he is ridiculed by the media for so many things that were out of his control.)

That being said, for Justin's nasayers, let me point out that Justin's appearance in the Good Vibrations workshop (which did earn him fabulous reviews from fans and non-fans, alike) may be a positive thing for the theater in general. I'm going to step out of the closet here and admit before all of you: I am not a "theater person." Never saw a Broadway show and have never had a burning desire to walk the Great White Way to take one in -- until now. If Justin can draw new fans to the theater and support this form of American arts, then more power to him. And more power to each of you.

Waiting to hear whether he will be a member of the cast so I can plan my first trip to Broadway . . .

I agree with you Oldie. I havent' been to a Broadway show in years but I will be on the first thing smoking to NY if Justin gets this show. And Beachie, I sometimes wonder the same thing about The Lion King. But then, we probably wouldn't even know who Justin is now if he had taken it.

hello wow thanks stilloldie, nice to meet you! i have no problem carrying a tourch for justin! lol..

there are some idol fans on this board, i seen a ton of them on the Jennifer hudson thread whom i do love she is great, that thread has tons of idol fans for Jennifer and Tamyra whom i also like a lot and Latoya my home girl from SF bay area and Frenchie!

I'm very happy to see some fans supporting these wonderful and talented women! i also think it's great that more then a few here are supporting Justin!

all these Kids have a lot of talent and i do hope they land on broadway to gain more experience and really bring some new fans to the Theater! I'm sure many fans have never as u said gone to a Broadway show, so it can help out to bring new fans to the Theater!

i like this board i have met a good number of nice people in general! I have no problem with a few people that don't agree or might be sarcastic that to me is not a problem and is very much an exception on this board ! this is a good board overall and some nice people soo far!

if i can survive Bolt boards and defending Poor justin last year from some of those trolls on that board then i can handle anyone that bashes Justin! i don't require anyone to like him, i just appreciate knowone hating on him...which is not really cool anyway who likes haters of anyone not me! opinions are fine not everyone will like the same person!

all i can say is this:

If Justin does take this Job on Broadway then the Cast will be in for a real Treat! Justin fans i'm sure will be sending all kinds of goodies and i'm sure the cast will also get stuff from Justin fans! I think at the Vassar show Justin fans also had some goodies sent to the Cast or to share with the Cast! haha! So Justin fans will be very nice to the Cast and i'm sure the cast will find a ton of new fans cause Justin fans are very welcoming...

i just hope he is able to do this show?

hopefully Sunset's daughter will get the part also that is very exciting and i hope she get's in the show as well as Lynne's friend! very exciting for everyone i'm sure!

as long as Simon Cowell is no where around he needs an attitude adjustment! LOL

Thank you for your good wishes! My daughter has a potential roommate in NYC, who is nice enough not to rent her room until
mid October just in case. She met her the week of her audition and I think it will be a good situation. So we are waiting...

As far as the Justin love going on "hey he is a great talent" and I hope he goes far. I do believe the Idol people do have a slave thing going on with these kids. I hope he can steer his own career from now on without their input. I would like to know what kind of a cut they are getting from these young people.

Does anyone know about the turnout for the LA Good Vib auditions this week?

i do wonder if Justin wish he took that Damn Lion king job! haha! i bet maybe Justin does think about that from time to time! i just found it funny the way u said it! that damn lion king job !

i'm not into Lion king too much, but i'm mainly glad Justin did Idol for the mear fact a few of us know who Justin is now and have enjoyed his CD all year and all his Fun and energetic performances !

so i'm selfish i'm glad he did Idol and it's a shame he had to suffer all of that stuff dished out by 19 and rca!

actually, i should just go ahead and post this.. i am no way a shill for this show.. ::shudder:: but, we have a family friend who is a producer and told us that the show WAS CAST a LONG time ago...these "open" calls are just for the leads... and because they have to have open calls..everyone already knows (those who are in the show).. and as of recent ... everyone has been set.
I have no desire to see this show what-so-ever... tap dance on a beach makes to justin from kelly with love sound like phantom of the opera...

they had open calls to see if they could find talent who could "possibly" cover the leads or recast the leads...as one of the leads in the workshop is now in BKLYN.

wow..finally someone spills some beans!

thanks for the info. so they have it casted and only trying to find a lead or leads! that makes sense cause how on earth could these people not be all casted yet!

why do they have to have open calls then if they found the people? that seems odd!
i would not want to go to an audition to find out they have it casted and u have no chance to get the part on these open calls! that seems a bit deceitful sort of!

well, when will they make any official announcement about the cast? do u no?

i figure that GV will be like Momma mia and those shows, so some will not like it and it is probably more for New theater goers ! I would only see if cause of Justin in it and otherwise it's not my type of show, but those Pop shows do bring in new theater goers that never been to a show before! But i don't live in NY anyway, so i won't beable to see it!

i just wish we knew or not this stupid stuff of not knowing and waiting forever seems very dumb! why can't they just announce the cast! oh well i would never have the patiene to be in that business!LOL...

which lead is in Brooklyn? is it David Larsen? who? I hear Brooklyn seems to have a lot of Hype and sounds like a show i would like more dramatic i guess! who knows maybe Justin is going to do some other show also many of these people do a workshop and movve on to a different show from what i hear!

Found this on a Justin board:

Two of the G.V workshop people are in "Brooklyn". Haneefa Wood who played Wendy, and the one they considered one of the "leads" the girl who played Rhonda, Julie Reiber. Tituss Burgess who played Eddie, we know will be in "jersey boys" starting Oct7th at the La Jolla playhouse in california but we dont know if he will still be doing G.V. I guess if someone goes to see the show they can ask him about that any anything else he may "know" And of course "Caroline" Megan Mc Ginnis will be in Little Women. So i guess they did have some recasting to do.

i guess if u got a more Juicy role in another show i would probably take it also! for all we know Justin might do the same thing!

the only thing i don't like about this show if justin is in it is that people will make comparisons to the movie j2k and both are musicals on the beach!

i think it would be great for Justin to at some point do a show that is more dramatic, he has the acting skills to play a dramatic role..

i'll be happy for Him if he does take this job and do GV! and i do hope he get's offers to do more Juicy roles in the future he is a Natural actor and can play a more serious role i think with no problem he has a lot of depth and passion and i hope he get's offers to explore his talents more!

it's just the point of me asking again..how good can a show possibly be when the storyline is about friends in highschool in california? I can just stay home and watch repeats of 90210. I honestly think they held a lot of calls because tara casts mamma mia..and they always need people for that.

i think the show's main attraction will be to newer theater goers that go to shows like momma mia and for the music really more then anything! so beach boy music lovers will go to see it too i'm sure!

i'm a bit more of a Phantom of the Opera and Le Mis fan myself, but these Pop shows do attract new theeater goers that love Billy joels music and Abba! lol

i rather hear Beach boy's music then Billy Joels to be honest or abba's! lol...

so this show will be in that same category so some will like it and some won't!

i'm still not convinced Justin is going to do this show, soo many of the people from the workshop have left this show for something else, so to me that is interesting and so we shall see if Justin does do this show, if not he might have a better offer as well!

I would like to see Justin in a show like West side story or Jesus christ superstar or something really amazing! I think Justin would be great in a show like that in one of the more leading roles also!

If i was a casting director that is the type of show i would see Justin in and developing his talents more in a morer dramtic role! justin has tons of theater experience in the past so he can handle a juicy role as in those shows i know he can!
