ummm...i have a question then?
how on Earth if the Cast is not decided til Mid Oct, how do these actors/ dancers Learn the show in only ONe month or soo before the Previews on Dec. 7th?
I guess i always thought it took more then a month or soo to learn your lines and get a show in great working condition??? i'm very shocked how little time they have to get the new actors together and it just seem very Thrown together?
is that normal that Actors only have a MOnth or soo of rehersal before going to Open on Broadway? maybe that is Normal?
anyone know?
i'm getting a Bit annoyed how long they are taking to announce some of the Cast! give me a break it can't take this long!
I'm not sure if Justin Guarini is doing the show yet u all no he was in the workshop! Justin had once said his Next CD is out Early next year and he is talking to record companies etc.. so i do wonder if he might not do the show or not? how can he do his CD and a show at the same time! He is soo great on stage, if he does not do this show, hopefully he will do another type of broadway show down the road he really would be great for Broadway with all the energy he has !
this waiting game is just soo old now, i'm ready to hear the news good or not i'm done waiting now! LOL
Justin is on a TV reality show series in October called: FILM FAkers! it's a pUnkd show sort of and on AMC channel! Justin is in on the Joke i guess and he sings i think also in the show it is suppose to be a Punkd type of show or something so i heard it is very funny!
fyi only...
anyone have any real Juicy info. so we don't have to wait anymore to hear the Casting! ?????? LOL

The casting call on playbill.com said that rehearsals would
start early October, but you must have more updated info than
I do. My daughter would have to move to NYC, and right now
has a possible roommate, but doesn't want to commit $$ until
she knows if she has a job. She plans on auditioning for Movin' Out in LA in October, so this auditioning process gets
expensive when you do not live in NYC.
Hey JJSugar,
Are you the guy my daughter met at the audition? She recognized
a guy at the audition who she saw in class when she was in LA this summer. Just curious, because this guy made it to the final cut and I thought it might be you!
how do you all hear about these open casting calls? I'm no ware near the level of talent needed to get into a show, but it would be great to try at least.

Guys, this is the Beach Boys musical. You really think people are buying tickets to it for the cast or that flimsy plot?

Some resources for casting calls will cost you such as backstage mag, but we check the free listings
on playbill.com and look for the job/casting link.
I ended up not going to that one because I was in headshot limbo waiting for my repos .

A lot of Justin's fans will be buying tickets to see him. They flew from all over the US to see the Vassar shows which were all sold out.
BTW, I believe JJsugar is a female.

Maybe most of them already know their parts? hmmmm.... (Just wishful thinking)

Wickedjfan: I like the way you think but it isn't Justin G. that I am hoping gets the part from the workshop. I have a different favorite and he is a major talent.
Enough said.

Well, I wish him/her good luck also. Has this person been in any other Broadway productions?

Hi Sunset..no that is not me! i'm a girl so that rules that out! plus i did not audition for the show! lol..
i do wish your Daughter the best of luck and i hope she get's the show she wants to! i bet it is expensive to audition for these shows so i hope it pays off for her for sure!
yes, wicked fan i'm a girl...
so as for Lynne so ur friend then must be trying out for Jan. the part Justin played? that must be why u said that cause otherwise it would not matter what part they could be in the show together!
there is a chance Justin might not do the show cause he is going to put out a Cd he said early in 2005, so he may not do the show and we don't no yet what will happen!
But in any case Justin was great in his small part he did and he does have really good stage presense and is a huge talent in dancing, singing and even acting he has a good solid acting background so he will only get better as time goes on!
But i do wish your friend the best and hope he does get a part in the show! if Justin does not do the show then i hope ur friend does it ! or maybe ur friend is trying out for some other part in the show so i do wish your friend the best and i'm sure it will all work out!
I actually have a feeling Justin will work on his Cd and go do that and not go to Broawday right now! he has been working on it and said he was talking to record companies and moving forward with that and early 2005 is not far away so if he does get his cd out he only has like a few months left to finish it off a single!
i would love to see Justin go to Broadway, but my guess is he will be going to work on his Cd and finish it up and so he might not do this show! But he still had great expereince with it in the workshop so it was a very good thing he was able to do!
we shall see!

oh ps...if justin does go with finishing his cd and has it out like he mentioned in early 2005, i do hope people check justin out cause he has a beautiful recording voice, i have his debut cd and he has an amazing smooth silky jazzy style to his voice it is just wonderful to listen to and i highly recommend it! u can only find Justin's cd on amazon, but hopefully his next Cd will get more distribution and he lands a better record deal then he had before! Justin actually sold 150,000 cd's which is dang good for very little distribution in stores! if he had some distribution like other Idols did he would have sold more no doubt!
i would like to see Justin do an all Jazzy style album at some point cause he is really gifted at Jazz music his voice and style are very jazz oriented when u hear his cd and his xmas song on the idol cd is really jazzy style very impressive! so it would be great if he did a real Jazz album and went all out with Jazz!
ops i'm a bit off topic! i have to go see u all soon!
Since when did this become a friggen Justin board? I mean I saw him at Vassar but come on...there are plenty of guys that could play that role....
even though I wouldn't mind if Justin DID get the part...

sorrryyyy...he was in this show workshop so it seemed related on this thread! sorry if i was enthusastic i'm sure other fans are of whom they love too!
there are tons of threads on this broadway board that have no mention at all to justin he happen to be in this show is all that relates to him!

JJ you are far off the mark as far as my friend is concern. No, my friend is NOT auditioning for Justin's part. Justin can do both; have a CD come out and work in a show, if the part is offered and he so chooses. Good publicity for both.
Featured Actor Joined: 9/10/04
hello lynne! i been known to be far off the mark before! lol...hehe!
well u were soo mysterious about your friend in this show it was just a thought why u did not want to spill the beans!
well if ur friend is in the show and justin might be in the show, then he will get to work with him so that is nice! providing your friend is a HE! they might be a she! all this mystery! once the cast is announced no more guessing and so that will be nice!
well maybe he can do both a show and cd! to me i get tired just thinking about how hard these kids work on these shows! lol...you have way more engery when u are young that is for sure!
can u believe it snowed her in Calif. yes in deed in lake tahoe area it snowed i saw it on tv i'm watching the news! they said it willl melt cause we are going to get another heat wave! mother nature sure get's confused at times! lol...
I always wondered why Broadway has Not done a Musical for Christmas time like 'White Christmas' on stage! that would be soo wonderful kind of how they do Nutt cracker each year it would be very cool to see 'white christmas' on stage!
sorry for off topic, i just am thinking about it since i saw snow on tv just now the first snow of the year! like the song in white christmas 'snow snow snow'! i always think of that song when i see the first snowfall! lol...
well..when a record company drops their star, why not throw him on broadway..it's like the new jan brady thing to do...

They have auditions in LA that Galindafied and I are gonna go to. They're next week some time, but just for chorus.

regarding the one sarcastic post above!
Rca did drop Justin, but Justin actually wanted out long before it was final! so it really was more mutual ! Justin did not want to do POp music and more R&B and so he had musical differences of opinions with the label! it happens all the time!
Justin was on Broadway before american idol in master classes in Lion king! he also was attending a univ. in NY for theater and film! so no they did not dump him onto broadway he choose to continue what he loved doing long before american idol! justin has acted in many productions for years long before american idol ever was even a thought...
i guess there are a few trolls on this board after all! i don't do well with trolls! hopefully they go away...
back to the auditions and i can't believe the are still doing them it's amazing how fast they have to learn this show for Dec. previews!

I know there were auditions in LA on 9/20, but there are more
scheduled next week? With rehearsals set to begin mid October
I wonder how much notice people will have before the show starts!
JJSugar,
Sorry I thought you were a guy (oops)! Yes, it is expensive
with my daughter running between NYC and LA for auditions. If
she does not hear something soon, she is going to take a cruise
ship job. That way she can save some $$ and move to NYC next
year and not starve. It just amazes me how many auditions that
this show is having. Is this normal or do you think they
just are not finding what they are looking for?
Understudy Joined: 8/23/04
The people producing this show have been involved in some really high profile productions – Into the Woods, Urinetown, Mama Mia, Titanic, Seussical, Phantom, Cats, etc. So I’m sure they are looking for the very best. John Carrafa (director) is a choreographer himself so dance is really going to be focused on. Also, people who saw the production at Vassar have said the show would greatly benefit from a larger cast, especially for the beach scenes. So I think the cast is going to be huge which can only be a good thing for all of the unemployed actors out there.
