First time seeing Pretty Woman (Ive heard the recording) and he was the best thing about the evening. Great to see/hear him back on the boards again.

Great to hear!! Thanks for the report! I'm hoping he comes back to the show at a later time so I am able to see him in the role!

I won the lottery and saw him last night - he was incredible! I had little interest in seeing Pretty Woman prior to them bringing him on for this short time, but I'm really glad I got to see it.

For those who saw it (particularly if you've had comparisons to either Andy or Steve's Edwards), how did Adam approach the role and the character?

Saw the show, and Adam, tonight. Boy, is he great. Rick solid vocals, super charismatic, and even with some of that dialogue hes given, he kinda ran away with the show. I havent seen it before, but I found that he has a natural warmth and ease about him that made it believable that theres a relaxed, spontaneous guy inside. He really is a such welcome presence onstage every time Ive seen him.
...the show on the other hand, I found to be... lacking. There are glimmers of what this could have been, and I liked Freedom, some of the melodies, and the Opera scene. But those lyrics... Glad to have seen Barks and Pascal though! Two lovely performers, well-matched, and each deserving continued success.

I caught him in the show tonight and was pretty excited about it. He's great. Very charismatic and very much having fun on stage. And oh man, that voice still gives me chills. He absolutely still has it.
Haven't seen Andy Karl though admittedly, so can't compare the two at all. I would love to hear someone else's take that has seen both. But Adam Pascal def lived up to the heat.

To the one that wanted to know the difference between the two - I've seen both Andy and Adam now, and they play Edward a little different. Andy's characterization is a little more serious throughout, and Adam reveals a little softer charismatic side of him from the start. I would say that was the biggest thing I noticed between them.
Adam's voice did work extremely well with the style of the score, and I thought he carried the show well. Hoping this is a preview of him either touring it or taking on the role in the future.
*edited to say the show is in great hands with either of them.

Thank you, that was me!
I have a big soft spot for this show, largely because I'm an Andy Karl fan and am delighted to see him back on Broadway. But if anything could keep me interested in Pretty Woman after Andy eventually departs, it's Adam Pascal!
I'm unfortunately not in New York this week, but I'd love to see Adam's take on the role if he does take it over.

I am hoping too, but can't help to wonder if he'd be willing to leave home again for another year after just coming home from his Something Rotten tour in the last year. I have no clue if my assumption is right - but I'd think with his family still in Cali maybe he'll sign on for Broadway for a few months after Andy/Samantha leave as starpower to keep the show going. But who knows, I don't know him :)
