It's not really bad or busy, just odd and out of place. It looks like the show takes place in a barn, not a Nazi major's home.

The last word I'd use to describe the set is 'busy.'
I didn't mind the set.

Posted: 3/22/09 at 1:10pmI mean it WORKED, but it doesn't belong on Broadway. I understand its all about money, and if this is the only way the show could make it on Broadway, then I understand, but I wish the design just had more to it. It was just all browns and boring. The most exciting part is when a few things flew in. I felt like it just could have been better executed. And the projections were alright, but when you're on the front row like i was (or probably the front section), they don't really do much because it's so obvious it's a projection.

I just got back from the final preview of Irena's Vow and was pretty much blown away. Tovah Feldshuh leads this remarkable cast in such a triumphant way. I thought the set was fine, if anything, it's the theatre that doesn't belong on Broadway: cramped seats, awful lighting, small, crowded stairwells.
It was also especially moving after the bows, the audience was able to have an impromptu talk back with the living daughter of Irena Gut Opdyke. GO SEE THIS SHOW!!!

Oh yes! I'm just getting back myself and loved the show and it was great to have the daughter there to speak.
