in fact, let me just say that a frank zappa jukebox musical would be the ONLY one I would ever actually see.
I've always wondered if they could piece together a story around:
The Nightfly - by Donald Fagen
Carole King's Tapestry.
I'm not a juke-box musical fan, but I'd actually see that.
Operation Mindcrime 1 & 2 by Queensryche
They have actually been doing a stage play during the concert and it was awesome.

OK Computer by Radiohead. I think it could be brilliant!!
Janis Ian, Between the Lines.
It would be the anti-WICKED for the emo set.
I've always thought "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John. But I am not a fan of the jukebox musical form, save my guilty pleasure "Mamma Mia." Can't help but love ABBA.
I always thought that songs by Robbie Williams would lend well to the stage.
Albums like Sing When You're Winning and Escapology would provide a wide variety of emotions for a winning night at the theatre.

There actually is a Carole King revue called "Tapestry". It covers her career though the early 1980's, including the early hits she wrote for others such as "The Locomotion", etc.

None. It would take two albums to fill out the time. But a great album could probably work as a foundation in a decent jukebox musical, defining style, tone and narrative. The bookwriters are though probably happy if they can pick from several albums.

There are many shows with less than 50 minutes of music. Even so, a few extended songs for dance numbers and you go some extra time.

A Madonna musical could be fun. At least there could be some dancing and nudity =)

Michael Jackson: Number Ones
Harry Chapin: Greatest Stories Live

I did that show! It's loads of fun. Too bad there isn't a recording as there are some wonderful new arrangements of her songs. The 60s medley ending the first act was particularly fun and energetic. And the tight harmonies of "Smackwater Jack" were a blast to sing. I loved the blending of "Chains" and "Don't Say Nothin' Bad About My Baby". Seriously, this show whould be performed more often.

Is it bad that I would actually pay money to see this? It would be so bad, but in such a good way.
