There has never been a more annoying display of arrogance. And here it is being rewarded again. I’ve heard rumor to the rest of the cast which is sensational (though speculation) he’s such a pass for me.

Thought I will see anything Timbers puts his time into. Just a big shoulder shrug with Alex.

...how is this a display of arrogance from Alex Brightman?

Well, I love Alex, and if he comes to Broadway with this it will be a must see for me.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

I don't know much about Beetlejuice, so I'm just wondering... Kerry Butler (if she is attached) would be playing another female role correct? This isn't confirming that she isn't in it, right? Not familiar with the characters.

That's correct. Kerry Butler would be playing the Geena Davis character; Sophia Anne Caruso is playing the Winona Ryder role.

Strange with it being so close that they didn't announce Butler as well. Especially considering they announced her departure from MEAN GIRLS.

I assume they are waiting to announce Butler when the rest of the casting is finalized. It makes sense to announce the leading man and woman to drum up hype, and then have a second casting announcement to continue that.

...really? The antipathy is due to his School of Rock performance attendance?

Well people here are still holding grudges against Bernadette Peters, Donna Murphy and Laura Benanti for missing shows 10-20 years ago --- why shouldn't Brightman's work ethic be held to the same standard?

I don't think it's work ethic. Broadway performers are being tasked with increasingly taxing and occasionally physically dangerous roles, and it makes sense if a person's body can't hold up with and 8 show per week schedule. If the option is injure yourself or your voice vs cut down, then that should be a choice they're able to make.

I would say Dewey Fin is a very physical demanding role, im glad he took shows off so he didnt injury his voice or body.

Let's see, in the current Broadway cast, the tour cast and the London cast there is a Dewey alternate that performs two or three times a week. The producers realized the part was too hard to sing eight times a week and corrected their mistake. For that you blame Alex Brightman? <<edited by BWW staff.>>

Personally, his being cast makes "Beetlejuice" a must see. I've admired his work ever since I saw him do a musical called "Soon" at Signature Theatre. I also had a chance to talk to him several times when he was working on that show and he seemed like a genuinely nice person
