All Shook Up EMPTY tonight
#0All Shook Up EMPTY tonight
Posted: 8/20/05 at 11:49pmAll Shook Up was unbelievably empty tonight! The balconey was closed cause the elevator was broken and they moved everyone from the balcony into the orchestra and yet there will still a lot of empty seats around; not to mention and empty balcony and a fairly empty mezzanine... Doesn't look good, which is upsetting cause this my favorite show at the moment.

there ARE stairs going up to the balcony... i took them thinking they would be quicker than the elevator!
i do NOT want to see this show close so soon IF it does... it's so much fun! maybe this is one that would benefit by moving to a smaller theater...?

Posted: 8/21/05 at 12:05amLestat is going to get All Shook Up's current theatre, correct?

Posted: 8/21/05 at 12:25amThere are stairs, which I pretty much always take cause i figure why not burn some calories if i'm going to sit on my ass for 2 hours, I don't really know why they had to close the balcony... I heard was about vampires so it probably is Lestat. I'm going to be really sorry to see All Shook Up go, if it does close... Updated On: 8/28/05 at 12:25 AM

Not good. I know the show will close, I'm just hoping it can make it through the fall. 'Til December would be nice.

yea, Tarzan is looking to go where Movin out is..
I'm sad about ASU, I just wish it would do well for them, the cast is really a great one and the show is lots of fun, peopls just needed to give it a chance.

Posted: 8/21/05 at 12:59amthe best cast on broadway in my opinion. I am so glad i gave this show a chance. I had zero expectations for it going in, and now its my favorite musical on broadway and i've seen them all.

Posted: 8/21/05 at 1:40amI feel like they need to maybe try a new markiting idea, cuz the way they are going with the come see Cheyenne and someother sing elvis doesn't seem to be working for them (not that I have anything AT ALL against Cheyenne) I just think they should tey markiting it as a family musical rather then a pre teen and such kind of thing with the hott guy.. IDK try somthgin else anythign else to get the butts in the seats and give the show the run it should have!

Posted: 8/21/05 at 1:42amThat angers me that it was so empty. I asked about rush seats, and they said they didn't have any. They shoulda just given me some seats at Rush price. lmao. Oh well, saw Piazza instead.

Posted: 8/21/05 at 2:13amI agree with you about All Shook Up. It's a fantastic show, with the most talented bunch of performers you could possibly assemble for a Broadway show. (I got a special thrill seeing many of them playing softball with the Broadway softball league during my trip to NYC this summer. Michelle Kitrell was their enthusiastic cheerleader.) By the way, Conor, is that you in your avatar or some impossibly handsome actor I don't recognize?

agh. This is getting sad! It's such a fun little show.
I saw Chitty last night, and it was pretty dead over there, as well. And the people that *did* show up - man, that audience was dead.

Posted: 8/21/05 at 3:13amis the Richard Rogers theater all that big? It seems like Tarzan would want a big theater. Also, was Movin' out "forced' to close becuase Tarzan wanted their theater? I don't understand why the producers would just give in? It was doing good as far as profit goes.

This is very sad, but I can't say it's surprising considering the numbers it's been pulling lately...
oh well, soon it will be time for something new.

People have been scared off by the critics who tell them it is no good. Like lemmings. they believe them & stay away. It is a shame people have to be so wedded to what a few people who have never written 1 note of music or a book of a musical sit in judgment of. It totally amazes me

Posted: 8/21/05 at 10:39amI try and fill it up as much as I can. I brouhgt 8 different people to see it last week... What I don't get is why the show doesn't have better word of mouth. I have never seen this show with a dead audience... everyone that sees it seems to love it, you would think that that would count for something.
