Ok. I saw Altar Boyz tonight. Finally. I have been crazed with theater.
I was a bit upset the lead who plays Mark was out tonight and was there to see him. I was very happy. His understudy was fantastic.
A very funny show.
Just one question. If you could interview any of the Altar Boyz who would you pick and why.
I thought they were all wonderful. At a theatermania talkback Andy was the funniest. The guy who plays Juan last night had me in stiches.

Yay Corine!! I'm so glad you liked Daniel's performance of Mark. I only now heard he was on tonight or I would have posted for people to go!
do you mean interview an Altar Boy or their secular selves? lol :)
oh and please go back and see it again when Tyler's back on! Tues-Thurs are rush days $21! you probably got one but I just wanted to plug that as much as possible LOL

as am i!
okay i'm just going to answer both ways:
Altar Boy - Marky because he can think so fast on his feet! the interview's bound to make me laugh for days
Secular - Kevin because we know so little about him and that's not right! lol (okay i know he went to my school and lived in Hayden who's elevator is notorious but that's really not sufficient.)

Posted: 5/5/05 at 2:01amOH! I think I just put two and two together finally. I saw Altar Boyz last night but I went back to my playbill to read this "Daniel"'s bio and just realized that he was Daniel from Caligula (I worked on Caligula) except that he used Daniel Cochran during Caligula which wAs highly confusing to me. But now I really want to see him do the role!
#5re: Altar Boyz-
Posted: 5/5/05 at 2:05amwow someone from Caligula! that's exciting!! any backstage gossip about Daniel? LOL i'm only half kidding :) yeah i saw that name change on the first thread i read about the ABz...now i'm curious why...

Most of Caligula's gossip surrounded a select few people - one of which was not Daniel. He's a sweetheart.
...Though there was one scene where he ALWAYS stood right in front of the side light and (I worked with the lighting designer) I used to sigh every night because the red would be unbalanced. LOL!

Oh! And I got to be the girl they pulled up onstage for Something About You. That was an experience!

Has anyone ever interviewed Abraham?
I will never look at Lambchop the same way again.
LOL!

Andy and Ryan are from my hometown and I have done tons of shows with them.
Andy (Andrew Cesewski is his real name and I still have a hard time calling him "Andy") and I were smitten with each other when we were 19 or so ...so funny.
Ryan is a great guy and I love and miss him very much. Such a sweetie. Coincidentally, I was chatting in the dressing room with the girls in my show last night about just how much we miss him.
SO proud of both boys. I would piss myself if I saw the show being friends with 2 out of the 5 singing about Jesus.

Andy Karl gives a great interview, as well as being easy to be "smitten" with. I just found his fresh face on Broadway.com, for SHAME Juliet

okay even though the link is not loading for me right now on my school comp, i could have sworn i posted Andy's interview!! okay yeah just found it under Andy Karl search. i posted it at midnight and never bumped it in the morning. i guess i should be more careful when to post.
i will know where the rush tickets are come next week because i'll be going on one night but i'm sure other people here know. i've always bought straight up broadwaybox tickets
inish and di: i love you guys! thanks for sharing!! i cannot imagine...(well yes i can...LOL) how it must be like to be smitten with each other at 19 and now seeing him where he is! where did you sit inish? we've heard Matty is choosing more randomly now which is good but i just wanted to know. :) oh and what's up with these guys changing their names? lol i guess i'm not "with it" theatre-wise. is Karl his middle name?
okay this is the most hilarious random trivia ever! straight from NASA: "Andrew Karl Cesewski" was one of the names engraved in a microchip and sent to land on Comet Wild 2 in the STARDUST spacecraft Feb 7, 1999. LMAO what would Mark say?

Juliet, I'm guessing they probably changed their names when they joined equity (Like Nathan Lane actually being Josephy Lane but because someone in equity already had that name he switched to Nathan)
I can't wait to see this show! I'm hoping I can go on my birthday

Posted: 5/5/05 at 12:35pmAndy "Karl" is listed as just that on every data base I've searched, so Ceseski must be long gone, can't say I blame him.

Karl is Andrew's middle name..I remember the day he asked me to start calling him "Andy" and I laughed in his face...what?? You can't change your name on me when I have been calling you Andrew for years...too weird.
Everyone gets Andrew's last name wrong (seh-zeh-skee)...people butchered it so it was easier to go with the middle name.
I am glad for Andy but I am also glad for myself. I have done three national tours of my own and have a possible bway contract coming up with Ted Neeley and John Hurt so I ain't doing too bad myself.

Posted: 5/5/05 at 3:15pmOh my, Di2. Congratulations on the possible Broadway contract. And here's me being jealous of you and Andy being smitten with each other at 19. Hee. I adore the man - I've only talked with him twice, and I'm already smitten with him myself. *grin* And I agree with Al Dente - he gives GREAT interview. When they did the Ars Nova q&a a few weeks back, he was charming and funny and silly, with the most fun anecdotes, and just absolutely adorable.

Posted: 5/5/05 at 5:40pmHey Juliet! I was sitting House Right third row back third seat in (equivalent to C6). I had to climb over this nice 40something couple but they seemed to think it was hysterical. They kept looking at my friend and laughing while I was onstage (so I'm told) and when I came back the woman told me I did a lovely job! LoL. It was ahighly entertaining evening.

lol i LOVE older couples watching that show! i talk to them sometimes because i'm so pumped about the show i just talk to everyone sitting around me when they're announcing "the boyz will be all up in yo' buzinezz in 3 minutes!"
CONGRATS Di! i am the opposite of you in that i can't see him as an "Andrew" lol
#21re: Altar Boyz-

i'd love to see him do Rhythm. i'm not sure if i've officially threadjacked this now...lol but hey, bumping ABz threads is never bad
Corine I'm lovin' it!
bway2b: thank you for answering! i'm so excited for you because the first time is just so amazing! i kinda wish i could go back to being a newbie at their show! :)
