Why is it that almost every person to hit BWW that has poor grammar/spelling claims to be dyslexic?

The first time someone posted it I felt sorry for her due to people bashing her. But now, it's just...expected.

first of all - i'm NOT a fan of phantom, i've never understood its enduring appeal, the pseudo-operatic material is just dull and badly written - it doesn't sit in people's voices correctly, meaning they have to have half the show on a click track.

now, onto why i'm really posting. i don't think its an unreasonable request to ask the posters not to jump on a bashing bandwagon, just to take the post as an interested question and not to get on to name calling and hysterics.
the problem is there is always someone (or actually in this case several ppl) who seem to love being horrible to people, whether it be about their opinions, their typing, their personal issues or whatever.

ok, westendartist - you could try and avoid the text talk - ie talking like you were writing a text message. just slow down a bit when you write and try to divide up your thoughts a bit. i don't care about typos - god, i do enough of them, and i'm sure if i have one in here the vultures will devour it.
but what is up with jumping on someone and continually pointing out their deficiencies? god, what a shock, someone left an "n" out of think - grow up.

and a public posting board means freedom of speech - something you americans seem obsessed about - so if someone wants to start a post they can. like he said - you could have just ignored it.

i'm not an angry person, you've no idea how out of character this is. this is just one more thread that's descended into something that's tantamount to bullying.

I happen to love it.

What I despise are people who start threads with subject lines that do NOT reflect the subject. This forces people (like me) who would otherwise not waste their time to actually open it and read it. If I were a mod here I'd delete them all.

I have loved PHANTOM for 19 of my 31 years, since I got the London cast recording before it even opened on Broadway. I have collected books, recordings, music boxes, DVDs, seen the show many times.

I am not posting here because I myself have been a lifelong Phan, rather I am standing up for the millions and millions of people worldwide who feel just like I do.

Everyone has their own opinion, I respect and encourage that... But... A thread like this insults our intelligence and needlessly uses up bandwith. If you don't like something, keep it to yourself. The world is far to cruel and negative as it is. Simple, mean-spirited threads like this started causes anger and hurt feelings and are pointless.

There is a reason it is the longest running show in Broadway history. BECAUSE IT'S GOOD AND PEOPLE LOVE IT.

This thread needs to be deleted... as should the one someone started about WICKED.

Grow up.

I didn't get why this person felt the need to post this thread. I mean, if you don't like PHANTOM, then that's good for you. But please don't start pointless threads to bash it. Also, being a long time Phan, I took offense to the post, even if you did say no offense.

And west end artist1- If you're going to type like the way you do now, please do it in a way in which we can all understand it. Or just type in a regular fasion (Like this, not lyke thiz). Please and thank you.

I wanted to know who else didn`t like it! I`m not insulting anyone! There`s no reason this thread should offend you!

My favorite show is The Producers and when someone says they don`t like it I`m like ".....so?" It dosen`t offend me in anyway! If they don`t like it they don`t like it! I`m allowed not to like Phantom! Everyone has a say to what shows are good and bad!

EponineAmneris- I`m glad you like the show! But if so why not ignore this thread? I posted this to see who didn`t like it! NOT who did!

Starting threads like this make you seem childish and mean spirited.

I'm an American. I am all for free speech and having one's own opinion. That is not my point. My point is that people need to be smart and not expect people to not respond to something they feel passionately about... even if they are asked not to.

I love THE PRODCUCERS, too. God forbid someone started a thread bashing it. Can you honestly say you woundn't respond? I think not.

The fact that people jump on people due to the fact they have dyslexia is just pure nasty and quite an easy target.I dont care if people have said that they have had dysexia before im talking about me.This is something i have had to battle since i was 13(thank god i became a dancer hehe).
I hate bullys of every kind and bullying on here is so easy and so pointless.I guess if it makes you feel better about your own life well fine go ahead but it is kinda pathetic.
Give it a rest and talk about the shows etc not peoples grammer or bashing other members for there opinions .I shouldnt now feel worried about posting in case i spell something wrong or get my grammer wrong etc.
Yes i may have dyslexia but im a great dancer singer and actor ,im a working actor and that to me is more important in my life than a few spelling mistakes

why is so important to you i wonder?

I think the point of NathanLaneStalker's thread, if you read the first post, is that everyone around him seems to enjoy Phantom but he doesn't and he's looking for someone with something in common with him. This entire thread is sad in many ways.
