Posted: 6/5/06 at 2:53pmWhat was the name of the character she did on her show that was a big fan of Amanda's and always said "please" after almost every sentence? If she borrows some of the traits from that character and uses them for Penny, I think she'll do very well.

People seem to be worried that she cant sing, because she hasnt shown she can or cant in a role before - so we have nothing to go off of. It is a valid curiousity. The only singing I think she has done on screen was in 'the amanda show' which was most likely comic singing and not her tyring to show of her skills.
But my feeling is that Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are producing the film, who also produced Chicago. I believe they have a final say in casting and virtually all aspects of the film. So I dont think they would let her be casted IF they didnt think she could deliver and do the role justice.
