Has anyone heard if Amazing Grace is planning on releasing a Broadway cast album? I am very curious to hear how this score sounds on its own apart from in the theater.

Based on current business, I would think not. If you want to hear it, go see it while it's still playing.

I legitimately thought that this show had already closed seeing as how I've heard nothing about it for several weeks.

I have seen it. I didn't like it all that much but I still would like a cast album.
Even with shows I don't normally like, I will get the cast album because in the past I've actually come to admire scores to shows that I didn't really care for, such as "The Last Ship." I didn't really enjoy the show when I saw it but when I got the cast album, I found the score to be quite beautiful listening to the cast album.
Sometimes for me a score works better on an album than in the theatre.

Maybe Broadway Records will do it. Their Doctor Zhivago cast album is wonderful and that show wasn't a financial success.
