The lotto is now general. This was posted on Twitter:
"You spoke up and we listened, starting Thursday our lottery will now be a general lotto, open to all you "Idiots"!!

Damn it!
I won the other day, but now its going to be a field day!

Posted: 4/19/10 at 5:49pmCan the person who went when there weren't even enough people to fill the seats tell me if it was a weekday or weekend performance? And to anybody who won, can you guys tell me how the seats are, since I remember the St. James stage as being fairly high? Do you miss much from the lotto seats? Thanks!

Posted: 4/19/10 at 5:56pm^ I went on Thursday. The front row is great! For Gypsy, they built the stage out (eliminating a row and raising the stage) which caused a few sight issues. I never had sight troubles for Desire Under the Elms and Finian's. They have built out the stage slightly for American Idiot, but they have kept the first row. The stage isn't all that high (certainly not as high as it was for Gypsy). However there is little leg room (but it's not a big deal for a 90 min show). I don't know how the sight lines are from the boxes, but I imagine that they're pretty good as most of the action takes place center stage.

Posted: 4/19/10 at 7:06pmI sat second row and the view was great. I don not think the boxes are being used for AI.

Posted: 4/19/10 at 7:10pmThe stage was high for GYPSY. I sat third row and couldn't see a damn thing. Then I saw DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS front row and had zero issues. I assume AI is the same deal as ELMS.

HA, this phrasing has had me laughing all day.

it might have just been a fluke that for saturday's mat...

Posted: 4/19/10 at 8:41pmThe view from both the 1st and the 2nd row is perfectly fine. As of last week, after giving out the first and second row lottery seats, they pick 12 more winners to sit in the partial view boxes. And then they frequently have been offering partial view on the sides of the orchestra as "lotto losers" seats. So that's 37 seats, plus lotto losers... more than any other show offers, by my count. I think this change will be just fine.

How is the general attitude around The St. James during the lotto? I was there for the second preview lottery and despite winning there were just so many people there that those who were running the lotto were clearly having trouble with crowd control.
I am assuming that if there are reports of almost everyone who entered winning or them drawing extra names for the boxes etc, that the attitude has calmed down somewhat substantially between then and now.

How much is the lottery?
And are they also offering standing room? I'm presuming if so, that's around $27?
Thanks.

They said they'd sell Standing room after opening
I'd guess only if its sold out tho which probably won't happen too often considering how big the St. James is

When I talked to one of the interns, she said that they're not doing partial view/lotto loser seats after opening. And while I did see people sitting in the boxes, those are probably the worst seats in the house for this particular show. Lights are shone in your face for at least two songs so you're practically blinded.
As far as lottery goes, my friends and I tried Saturday evening and it was packed. They went again on Sunday and while it wasn't as busy, they said that there were 30 or so, it was rainy and it was the first Sunday of performances so people might not have known there are shows.
You might have some tomorrow night considering it's Wednesday. :)

Posted: 4/27/10 at 8:29pm^ The only time I got a light in my face was during Favorite Son, and I missed part of Tunny's action (because it all took place far right) but i just had to adjust myself a little bit and I saw everything fine

American Idiot General Lotto#22
Posted: 4/27/10 at 11:55pmThe last I've heard is they are not using the boxes for lotto.

I lottoed for the Saturday evening show and it was a madhouse. Everything seemed okay with about 40 people there up until about 6:15 when a steady flow of around 35+ people just kept walking into the lotto area.
After losing, though, I got right on line with my friend at the box office and managed to get orchestra partial view (I got D13 and my friend got F17) for $37. Not too partial view at all. Only things missed were the scaffolding that turns into the bus during "Holiday," the bathroom door (and only because the couch was in the way), and Whatsername's window.

Posted: 5/2/10 at 1:11amDoes anyone know generally which tickets are being sold at TKTS and how much they are? I know it can vary. I'm just wondering if anyone has done TKTS, what seats they got and how much they were. Thanks!
