She'd be great. My only concern is that, even though she is only three months older than Sierra, she comes across as years older. And maybe not the right partner for Aaron Tveit.
I think Kendra Kassebaum would be good as Sophie.
Her voice really fits.

I was going to say Ashley Brown too, but isn't she in Chaplin?
I'm not sure. Rob is the only cast member listed on the website now, and all I can find is that she was in the original production.
I love Sierra and think she'd be perfect but she is busy. Les Mis, Ever After, Prince of Broadway.
However, Andrea McArdle was a good choice.

OMG I watched the movie last week cause it was on HBO Go and Anastasia looks almost exactly like Andrea McArdle...but unfortunately she is now 10 years too old for the part.

well that's why I thought of her, SHE LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE ANIMATION1!!
Kelli Barrett will be playing Anastasia :)
From her Facebook: I'll be playing the role of 'Anastasia' in the upcoming Ahrens and Flaherty musical reading along with Angela Lansbury, Aaron Tveit and Aaron Lazar! So excited to tackle such a cool part with such a great team!

Good for her!
Does anyone know why she wasn't in Rock of Ages when it went to Broadway?

My opinion? Or at least what I think they SHOULD do in this instance? Get an unknown. Give someone new who has the chops to do it a chance. It has happened before. It would also make a great story once the show finally does get here. There are just too many talented actresses out there that could do it. Plus Sierra and Laura and all of them have plenty on their plate already, nothing against any of them.

I suppose broadwayguy has a point about casting an unknown. If Landsbury and Tveit stick with the show, there'd be enough name recognition in there to get them ticket sales.
SuBo.
Would Nina Arianda not be suitable?

I just think that whoever does it, we should all be glad this isn't a reworking of the Wright-Forrest-Abbot-Bolton mess "ANYA", which opened and closed (1965) in less time than it took to shoot the Czar.

We've never heard Nina sing before that's probably why.
This is the only video I have found where she sings. I think she'll be good, and she is relatively an unknown. According to the slightly-reliable IBDB, she only has two actual Broadway credits, and she had a short stint on ATWT.
But keep in mind: this is a workshop. No one, except for Angela, is set in stone for when it opens on Broadway.
Kelli in Rock of Ages

Would love to see Rose Hemingway have a go at it? What is she up to?
Based on that video, I am not too crazy about Kelli Barrett. It's not the best indicator of her talent though.
^ I agree. I wish there was a better video available. I may not be searching enough. I just remember that performance when I was following Lauren Molina's Rock of Ages vlogs.
Kelli also sings "It's My Party" on the Baby, It's You recording.

I know it would never happen...but what about Molly Ranson? Her voice isn't perfect but I could see her doing it justice.
^ I can't see it. If not Laura Osnes or Sierra Boggess, I think it should be an unknown.
Laura and Sierra would be ideal. They are just really, really busy nowadays.
What about Ashley Spencer? How long is her RoA run?
So true. Sierra or Laura would be perfect. I also really like the Rose Hemingway idea.
Patrick Page confirmed his involvement in a reading tomorrow via his facebook...I assume as Rasputin.
