Hard to give "informed advice" when you've told nothing about yourself. I've seen them both in earlier incarnations and would recommend them both. But without knowing what you like, it's hard to help.
Fair enough -- taste tends toward more modern and quirky musicals, less toward traditional. Love In the Heights, Little Shop, Fun Home, Avenue Q. Love Sondheim; ALW not so much.
Based on your interests, you'd best be set with Great Comet.

I have also seen both and agree 100%. Anastasia is beautiful, but it is also very traditional. Great Comet certainly fits the bill as modern and quirky.
p.s. also agree with original poster about ALW - enough already!
Great Comet 150%. Of course it's all subjective, but in my eyes there no contest whatsoever. I enjoyed Anastasia, but IMO it's not even in the same league as Great Comet.

Great Comet on Broadway is going to be a completely unique experience that will not be easily replicated on the road if it should tour, and I would definitely factor that into a choice between the two.

And I agree with this advice.

I thought Great Comet was INCREDIBLE and Anastasia was pretty and well done but not a must see. Based on your interests I would definitely go with Great Comet.
Great Comet definitely would be my choice, after seeing the Off-Broadway version. And the most unique, immersive option. Even if both tour, this seems like the one that will need to be tweaked for the road.
Great Comet, really something special.
