I DON'T LIKE CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jk, I don't mind, it's a bit jarring but they gotta get the word out, make advertising dough, etc. etc.
You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor

"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

I don't know? Oh man, a 20 year flash-back...

Yeah, when I arrived at the site I realized that Wicked is saving marketing bucks by only putting ONE ad in the NY Times a year and not advertising here!

But hey, this is why we don't have to pay for these message boards!
I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

The show's called shrekster now?
A little known fact is that in the original screenplay, Pan's Labyrinth was Pan's FLAByrinth. Hmmmmmmm...glad they changed it.

re: And suddenly, it's green

I think it's sneaky way to promote a show -- BWW should be an objective site when listing its features, latest news articles, etc., etc. It's fine to advertise openly but this is almost like jamming the show down everyone's throat. Beware, Shrek monitors, readers may throw up and avoid the show.

It's not a big deal. It'll probably only be around for a couple days, it's cute, and let's face it, if Gypsy, [tos] or Xanadu did this, you'd all be ecstatic.

Let's have some perspective here, people.

Actually, I don't think I'd feel any different if it were for another show. Even though we all realize that Shrek paid for it; it certainly SEEMS as though BWW is endorsing it: and they shouldn't be endorsing anything.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

It's purely advertising. That's like saying a TV station that runs commercials endorses every product it runs ads for.

re: And suddenly, it's green

HEY!

It's not that easy being green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold
Or something much more colorful like that

It's not easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
Not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky

But green's the color of Spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean, or important
Like a mountain, or tall like a tree

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why
Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine, it's beautiful
And I think it's what I want to be!

:)

re: And suddenly, it's green

So has anyone joined this Shrekster thing? I did, out of morbid curiosity. It's actually pretty entertaining, although you don't have to join to see any of it.

re: And suddenly, it's green

I didn't even realize it was for Shrek at first. I just thought it was a post-Halloween thing BWW was trying. So Fail on you Shrekster. You and your lame marketing attempts. :P

Hideous or not, it worked! We're all talking about it...

Not if they're being paid to run it for a certain amount of time, they can't.
