TMZ has learned Anneliese van der Pol has pleaded no contest to DUI after being arrested for driving with a whopping .19 blood-alcohol level.
The "That's So Raven" star was arrested on July 10, 2006 after colliding with a parked car. According to the official report, obtained by TMZ, the crash caused "a domino effect in which the parked vehicle hit two additional vehicles." The report continues: "After hitting the parked vehicle, Defendant then lost control of her vehicle, traveled across the roadway, and finally collided with another vehicle..."
The LAPD arrested van der Pol, whose blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit of .08.
The Disney star pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors -- driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level above .08. The Los Angeles City Attorney's office prosecuted the case.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 19. According to the documents obtained by TMZ, the court has offered Ms. van der Pol 36 months probation and a penalty of $2,844 in fines and assessments. She'll also have to attend
an alcohol education program."
This was from TMZ. I have a feeling that if she is cast, she will have to go a program in NYC,

Didn't know that DUI thing...
But in my opinion a good choice for Belle even though That's So Raven is poorly written and raven can't sing like they think she can.
She told my singing teacher that Disney has hired her to finish the show after whoever is currently playing Belle leaves.... yeah
Good choice! She has a great voice. (Oh that rhymes.)

This is great casting! She has been so underused on the Disney channel and finally she'll get her own chance to shine!
Aww well I hope she does very well in the show.
Anyone know when she starts performances?
i like the choice, but i would have liked the last to be like
the first or a "classic" belle. but is this even confirmed?

same, I would have thought they would get someone like Susan Egan or Deborah Gibson to close the show. But again, hope she does well.
If they got Susan, I'd melt in happness :)
aww, that's great! I love her! I think she has a great voice, and she will be great in this. I can tell.
When does she start? I wonder if John Tartaglia will be in it with her.
I cannnot stand That's So Raven, but I love her. Didn't she play Evita somewhere when she was like 16 or something? (I'm not sure.)
Although Susan would have made my life complete.
I'm shocked about the DUI stuff though...
If Susan Egan were to return, I would absolutely go back and see this show. But the fact of the matter is, she is 13 years older than she was when she first opened as Belle (though I have no doubt that she would still shine in the role).
I read that Anneliese played Evita somewhere. She's super talented and I had always envisioned her as a Belle.
Anneliese has already made an impressive mark in the world of entertainment. For her captivating performance as Eva Peron in the Buena Park Civic Theater production of Evita (1999), she not only won rave reviews from the Los Angeles Times but also earned a place in history as the the youngest actress - at the age of 15 - to play the role in a professional production.

It's sad that Disney overlooks her talent. She has been a stage actress before and has a great voice, but all they do on "That's So Raven" is make her play dumb. I hate how Disney makes every TV show have that dumb character. Bleck. ANYWAY. Good for her, good for the show.

This is awesome news for her. Her and I did Evita way back in the summer of 2001 in Buena Park, California. She was only 16 and she played our Evita. I still have the video of her playing it and I will find some way of loading the clips online to show how awesome she was. Good for her. I'm happy to see her fully utilizing her talents. She has an awesome voice and she's a trained ballerina as well.
I think if Andrea McArdle could play Belle at 38, Susan Egan could close the show at 36. Well , technically 37 since her b-day is next month.
But anywho, back on topic, congrats to Anne! I love her voice. She'll be amazing in the role.
I think March but I'm not 100 % sure...maybe May.
I'll try to find out!
I wouldn't have minded Susan Egan returning to close the show. I'm glad they're not going with a Belle who's done the role thousands of times already, like, say, Sarah Litzsinger.
If ony they'd get someone new or exciting to finish out the run as the Beast. However, I guess by this point it's only proper that Blanchard get to close the show, since he's been there for the past 8 years, at least.
