Does anyone know if Andrea is leaving for good? Or will she be returning after Machado finishes her run?

In all fairness... the woman has been involved with IN THE HEIGHTS since it conception (workshops... all BEFORE Off-Broadway and Broadway), so she's entitled to finally leave the show after all these years. Kudos for STILL bringing freshness to Daniela after all these years.

Here's hoping she's allowed to bring her deliciousness to the big screen/film adaptation of IN THE HEIGHTS. I don't want to see anyone else.

BrodyFosse, you are very right, she is entitled to finally leave, but I'm sooo glad she is just taking a vacation!! She is one of my favorite parts of the show. I absolutely love her as Daniela, and I also hope she is in the film adaptation!

I also think Jennifer Lopez will play Daniela. I just think she is perfect for it. I think she can bring that style and attitude the role calls for.

Jennifer Lopez is NOT a producer on the movie version of Heights. Don't know where you heard that. The producers are Universal, Meryl Poster and Lin-Manuel himself, according to the press release.

Exactly. Jennifer Lopez has stated that she is interested in bringing IN THE HEIGHTS to the big screen, but she is in no way attached to the property in any capacity. As of late, she (along with her husband Marc Anthony) are just big fans of the show... just like thousands of others. That's it until anything changes.
