My friends have tickets for tonight - Wednesday, June 16th, and she called Telecharge.com about 2 minutes ago, and they confirmed that she will out for tonight's performance due to illness.
They will be getting a full refund.

Any word yet on Friday? lol
*fingers crossed for tomorrow*
I personally have no desire to see the show, just Angela live on stage.
What is the number your friends called?
The number for the theatre isn't working and I can only find a telecharge number to order tickets. I very well may take my first refund if she's not in tomorrow.
Let's be honest here: all she has to do is sit in the chair, talk, and sing one song. People will love her even if she's as terrible as the production. She better be seriously ill not to go on.
Telecharge's number is (800) 233-3123.
Yankee, when did you see the show? I saw it in May, the same night as the Times Square bomb scare.

"She better be seriously ill not to go on."
Angela has had near perfect attendance in NIGHT MUSIC and her other recent performances on Broadway. I don't think she'd miss a show unless she had to..I don't know..I think your comment is kind of obnoxious "She better be seriously ill"? Come on....this is not the WSS revival..
Maybe Yankee knows something that we all don't.

I asked at the box office this afternoon is she would be performing this evening, and they said "I don't know." The box office people are lying sacks of crap.
What a cruel heartless post. Angela is 84, and apparently has laryngitis. The elderly have to be very careful with illness. Yankeefan sounds like some idiotic child.
I paid a lot of money for Sunday's last show and I am bringing two high maintenance friends with me. I hope to God she is still in it. How do you get refunds if you ordered the tickets through an eBay seller? What a pain in the ass. I hope she is okay. I am very concerned now. She would never miss a performance unless she was truly unable to come.

So if a performer who is above the title is out for the day for whatever reason, you can walk up to the box office after the show and ask for a refund? How does that exactly work?
^ If the tickets are unused then you can ask. I think it helps to ask before the show takes place, though. :)

If an actor is above the title, yes you can get a refund if they are out.
She better be seriously ill not to go on.
And just who the fvck are you? Her agent? Trevor Nunn? Who are you to question how ill she is?

"I asked at the box office this afternoon is she would be performing this evening, and they said "I don't know." The box office people are lying sacks of crap."
When you asked, they didn't know. It isn't always known way in advance. It would be easier to tell you the truth than to have to process one more refund or exchange during half hour.
I stayed and saw the show last night - because I figured there's a better chance of seeing Angela on Broadway than Catherine - and I have to say that Karen Murphy did a wonderful job. So if you swing it, I say see it anyway.
"Yankee, when did you see the show? I saw it in May, the same night as the Times Square bomb scare."
I also saw the show around that time. The 15th to be exact. I have to say, I was so annoyed that everyone felt the need to clap for her anytime she left the stage. And I apologize. I realize now my original post sounds much harsher than I meant it to be. I meant something more along the lines of "She must be really sick if she's not going on, considering the producers are selling her over the show."
I just got home after receiving my first refund in 37 years of theatregoing. Normally, I look forward to seeing the understudy (and I saw Sondheim walking into the theatre so if it was good enough for him...), but at these prices, I opted for the refund.
The box office personnel were gracious and efficient, and apologized for the situation.
I was told the rest of Lansbury's performances were sold out.
I asked this on the other Angela Lansbury thread, but if she is out on Saturday, can I ask for an exchange to see the show in July with Peters/Stritch or does it have to be a refund? I don't really care if I see CZJ or not.
I don't see why they wouldn't let you exchange. Why would they not keep your money? Even if they didn't, you could get the refund and then buy new tickets. :)
HushPuppy: On Telecharge I pulled up at least 1 ticket for tomorrow night and the Saturday matinee as well.

Thanks Rudy, I'll jump on it.
KChenowethfan: Presuming you paid full price for your ticket, I'd get a refund and buy my Peters/Stritch ticket using the discount
Ooooh good point. I did pay full price. I didn't realize there was a code out yet for July.
That's the way the box office has to do it anyway. I had this issue once before at another show. They can't do "exchanges" per say. What they will do is refund you the cost of your original ticket, then process a completely new transaction for the new date. When I asked why this was, the gentleman explained that this was the only way their computers would allow it to happen because they had to track the tickets or something.
Regardless, it's essentially an exchange, but understand that on your credit card statement, it will first show up as a refund, then a separate purchase.
HushPuppy, you're welcome. I hope it works out. :)
Does anyone here know about how to get refunds or exchanges if you don't have the credit card or receipt from box office purchase with you? I bought my tickets for the Sunday matinee through a broker.

I went to the matinee and decided to go anyway. I wanted to see jones so I figured why the hell not. Karen was excellent, and it didn't seem like a lot of people took the option of a refund. I would have taken a refund if lansburys and jones run lasted longer than sunday. I already have tickets to other shows on saturday and it isn't worth the hassle to me to go every day to find out if lansbury is on or not. The show was pretty good.
