Posted: 3/15/07 at 6:12pmI may be in the minority, but I hope it's not Austin. He's a good actor and can sing & dance, but he's not Danny for me. I'd love to see him as, say, Billy Flynn in Chicago, but not Danny. I've been voting for Max and I hope he gets it.

Posted: 3/15/07 at 6:29pmrentboy, although it's true that most who have played Billy Flynn have been older than 30, there have been a few who aren't much older than Austin - Taye Diggs, Michael C. Hall and Kevin Richardson, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Though Austin is around their age, he looks SO MUCH younger.
In case no one was sure, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel were already cast as Danny and Sandy. I don't even know what this reality tv show is about.
I feel that Allison will look so young in comparison with the rest of the cast. Well, maybe if they took off those Kirsten Dunst curls and she wasn't the child of Hugh Panaro and Jim Stanek, she might look like an adult.

Posted: 3/15/07 at 6:51pmYes, Austin is young looking. I suppose I was referring to his oiliness, for lack of a better term. But I don't really see him looking young as that much of a detriment. I always saw Billy as kind of a snake oil salesman.

Posted: 3/16/07 at 12:13amJenny has not signed a contract so who knows. Also they are having auditions again and I know someone who has an appointment for a role next week, so I would think nothing is final. I do know 2 folks who have signed chorus contracts though.

I always loved the role of Patty Simcox, I think she wasn't in the movie, if Im not mistaken. She was just in the theatre version.

Ok, I'm chiming in. Austin is ridiculous. He's the most plastic performer I've seen in a long time.
Also, I would venture to guess that they will wait to sign contracts until the leads are cast because it wouldn't shock me AT ALL that if Max doesn't win they cast him as Doodie. Which is a much bette role for him, although I think he could be an interesting Danny and deserves to win.
I'm also gonna go on a super limb here as far as Teen Angel and guess Jonathan Freeman?

muscle23ftl-Patty SIMcox WAS infact in the film version of Grease! She just wasn't as big of a role as she is in the stage version.
Patty in the film was played by Susan Buckner.
