it was by Lexington and somewhere in the 50s. it was the same picture already posted but from the side angle so it fit better. it looked great!

Oh DEAR, do you EVER refrain from replying nastily to even the tiniest post? I don't see why you need to make a big deal over it. Seeing the ad on 1 out of a thousand taxi cabs IS NOT, a big deal. Otherwise everyone would be posting to say 'OMGZ I JUZ SAW A SPICE GURL ON A TAXI CAB!!!!!!!11111111'

MyNameInLights, I do agree that I shouldn't have used the word "tard". But at the same time you haven't read it all from the start, have you? I mean I came to Broadway forums in order to interact with people and discuss Rent after I found out that Melanie would be in it, NOT to fight or to argue. I met some lovely people so I am thankful that I joined here in the first place.
Different opinions ONLY make this world more beautiful, I respect them unless it comes to IGNORANCE. I posted a link to the clip of Mel B's singing "Out Tonight" StateOfJade said that she sounded awful, I post a Promo picture of Melanie and while everyone else says she looks Mimi-ish, this person claims that she looks 80 years old. Then when someone asks about Cab ads, she says "ads on a Taxi is not big of a deal", did anyone SAY it WAS?
I mean seriously even if you do not like Pop Stars on Broadway, it doesn't mean that you have to be so ignorant regarding their work, especially whithout even seeing Mel in the musical yet.

The bottom line is this isn't a dabate where a winner will be declared. No one is saying opinions can't be had. But it seems those who keep shouting 'please respect my opinions' don't extend the same offer. Hence, the point this thread is at now.
The newer members who may have joined recently due to MelB joining RENT are certainly welcome here.
But those of us have been around a while (and I don't even consider myself one of the "voices" of the board...) know that they either have to conceed here and there OR they'd better be able to back up their thoughts and opinions wholeheartedly (and confidently) without resorting to back-and-forths that just keep attacking.
It is my opinion that this is the reason for the hostility towards the MelB fans.
Opinions and thoughts are indeed what this place is about, but sometimes you have to emotionally remove yourself from it now and then to enjoy it all!
My 2 cents,

I was in no way being rude when I replied to the taxi post, but of course you just HAD to bring it up again and do some more bashing. The only reason I'm even having this pointless argument with you is because you got mad when I said that the picture of Melanie was disgusting. But you know what? In my true, honest opinion, it is. And I honestly think she looks about 80 years old. And if you don't believe that, you should see her headshot in the playbill. But my point is, if you can't accept other people's opinions, you're bound to have a hard time. Not that that's not what's already happened. Just let it go already.
