Check out Melanie Brown picture from the recent photoshoot. Didn't some people say that she looks 80 years old? LOL! What do you guys think?
Before localonecrew and co. starts mentioning names of her make up assistants, I have to say that she looks a little slutty maybe but absolutely STUNNING.
Edit: Here's a smaller version of the picture. This should work.
I got a RENT email today that was so tacky it was unbelievable:-
MELANIE BROWN (aka Scary Spice) stars in RENT! Tickets as low as $50*!
Even if you're not necessarily into Broadway musicals, you have to check out RENT, especially now that it's got a living, breathing Spice Girl in it.
It's a true fact: Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls (she's the one that goes, "tell me whatcha want, whatcha really really want") is now on Broadway, starring in RENT.
RENT is about being young and learning to survive in New York City. It's about falling in love, finding your voice, and living for today. It's about giving hope and having faith and it's connecting with audiences in a way that no musical ever has.
RENT has the youngest, sexiest cast on Broadway singing songs that really rock. RENT has always been hot, but now that Melanie Brown has joined the cast, it's actually - SPICY.
I've been SO impressed today with the email. She looks so gorgreous, really young (who doesn't uses make up? as if she were the only one) and that picture is straight maker if you know what I mean.
"I've been SO impressed today with the email. She looks so gorgeous, really young (who doesn't uses make up? as if she were the only one) and that picture is straight maker if you know what I mean."
Exactly, I mean if make up would make everyone look THIS gorgeous, get more make up people!

I like celebrity casting, and when I saw Rent my mind immediately jumped to Mel B in the role. But, that email is one of the worst marketing campaigns I've ever seen. It's not in any way subtle and it paves the way for making Rent a star vehicle. "a living, breathing Spice Girl" - how about 'a living breathing American Idol contestant?'

Well to be honest I quite agree with the statement, I did not find the appropriate either. I thought you meant crappy about her actually being in the show.
As much as I don't really like the idea of "popstar casting" I certainly understand why the producers keep doing it.
Personally, I think they should bring Jai Rodriguez back during the summer when he's done with Queer Eye's next season. I was lucky enough to see him as Angel a few years ago on Broadway (pre-Zanna Don't) and he was PHENNOMENIAL!!! Out of the three different casts I've seen, I can honestly say he was absolutely the best Angel 0: )
If he would do it, it'd be a very smart move because he has enough fame in the "out-of-Bway-world" to sell tickets to newcomers and enough fame inside to bring some old Rentheads back.
i agree with broadwaystar. Jai has enough respect (well IMO) in the broadway/theatre world and enough outside influence to sell more tickets. it would be smart to bring him back.
Can someone fwd me the e-mail? if so PM me if you have it!! Thanks!
Though scattered and divided we are still its heart...AIDA SEPTEMBER 5th, 2004...one more longing backward glance...
I AM NOW "TGIF!"
I wonder if they know that email sounds horrible. Are they serious with this comment
"It's a true fact: Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls (she's the one that goes, "tell me whatcha want, whatcha really really want") is now on Broadway, starring in RENT."
do I really need to know what verse she sings in the song???
Honestly I am so not picky about this crap but whoever did write that might have to be fired..haha
If they're going to put something stupid like which verse she sings in "Wannabe," they should at least get it right. She's the one who sings "I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want," to which Geri "Ginger" Halliwell replies "So tell me what you want, what you really, really want."
God, what an awful advertisement. It really does look like an add for some strip club. That's not a very flattering picture of her either.
While I agree that the written portion absolutely sucks, the picture is actually really fitting. Ok, so looks like an ad for a strip club, but Mimi works at a strip club! So it's all good! And I think the picture is kind hot. Mrow. I can see why Roger would want to get in HER pants.
"Yes, but there is more to the character than just being an S&M dancer. My point was that it ONLY portrays her as a whore, and nothing else."
Oh so you were actually making a point? Didn't YOU say that she looks 80 years old? 80 years old "whore" working in a strip club then? LOL! LOVELY point! About as much sense as a Condom vending machine in the Vatican.

Jason, your 'clever' comebacks are weak and pathetic. Who says 80 year olds can't look like whores? And who gives a ****, anyway? That isn't the point. If you want to bash one of my posts, wait until you have something insightful to say. And Melb4ever...you're just like a talking parrot. And it's about high time you stopped talking ****, and come up with something better to say that 'Good one!'
