Anyone have any casting news about the Piazza tour? I've heard of two people called back for Fabrizio or maybe the understudy, but that's it so far. . . .

I thought Victoria was going...maybe I am wrong...
There was a whole thread on whether Vicki was going to tour with Piazza a while back--I'll try and find it, but the gist was that it was doubtful whether she would tour because of her son. No official word on that yet, though.
And they're still having one last Equity Singers call on Tuesday, because the casting director got sick at the first call. Hopefully we'll start hearing soon after that.
EDIT: Found the thread!
Piazza tour--chances of Clark?

Though the producers have asked the entire NYC cast to go on tour, the salary they are offering doesn't even break four figures, which is beyond ridiculous in this day and age (the producers have even threatened to go non-equity if they can't settle to their satisfaction). So it's all up in the air as of now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't offering a salary of less than 4 figures be against Equity rules?
But, no, no casting news as of yet (unfortunately!).

It is indeed against equity rules.
While touring is indeed hard on actors emotionally and physically, financially, it is much more profitable.
Your housing is paid for, you get equity scale pay, plus a per diem pay.
They are still having open calls for every role except the mother, for which they are only looking for an understudy.
So I guess that means Vicki Clark is doing it? But doesn't she have a kid in middle school? I certainly don't think that would make her available for a tour. Maybe Patti Cohenour (sp?)

An Equity Production Contract tour paying under four figures can take place under the new Equity tiered experimental touring system if the proper terms are met- as would be the case here.
I have heard that Patti Cohenour will tour as Margaret, and that some of the Broadway understudies (like Jennifer Hughes and David Burnham) may be involved as well.
I will be playing the mother.

Congrats, bigrab!
A non-Equity tour of The Light in the Piazza? That just seems so... wrong.
I heard Betty Buckley will reprise her role as Margaret White for the tour. They will be tweaking the show's script and score to accomidate this.

I heard there were more Piazza auditions last week. Does anyone know of more people cast?
Another recent thread said that David Burnham (or whatever the current Fabrizio understudy's name is) will be Fabrizio. Also, it has widely been rumoured that Carolee Carmello will be Margaret. Elena Shaddow (sp?) is the only confirmed cast member for the tour. She will play Clara.
Offers are out. Announcement soon. Names involved.

Patti told me the chances of her doing it are HIGHLY unlikely. I'm assuming that since they asked her, Vicki turned it down. Patti's tired. She wants to go back to Seattle. I doubt she'll be touring.
I've been hearing a lot of Carolee Carmello rumors...
However, Carolee, like Vicki Clark, has children (as well as a husband). Would she really want to leave them all to go on a national tour?
I'll do it...and you don't have have to pay me 4 figures...hell I'll do it for a couple hundred a week....
and from what I hear about her I would be as good as Katie Clark.

Technically, no-one is "confirmed" as suggested above- there has been no official announcement by the producers as to any tour casting.
The only news of Elena Shaddow's casting was from her website, the only publicized news of Burnham's casting initiated solely from Jim Caruso's press release for Burnham's appearance at Birdland on June 19th. Both of these castings are true, by the way - but neither technically is "confirmed".
I spoke to David Burnham after the show yesterday and he is definitely touring as Fabrizio. He told me and we talked about Elena Shaddow as Clara and she is definitely touring as clara. So we have our Fabrizio and Clara. Carolee Carmello will not tour as Margaret, because she feels she cannot leave her kids for so long. That is all the information I have.
What Issa is saying is that the announcement hasn't been official yet.

The other name I've heard kicked around is Christine Andreas for Margaret - anyone else hear this?

Andreas sounds like an excellent idea.
IssaMe..perhaps you need to conquer reading before posting.
If you read what I stated, offers have been made. Does that mean any announcements have been made? NO.
I love it when the 14 yr olds think they are so smart. Back to recess.
