I love that ticket scanner, too.
When I sit there, not only does it feel homey, it feels like somewhere that I just KNOW I want to be, and be involved in for the rest of my life.
Plus, thsoe seats are so damn comfy!

There are many days that the theatre feels like home more than my actual dwellings. I mean it sorta depends, but the theatre is definitely my home!

Whenever I go to The Drowsy Chaperone I feel at home. Maybe it's because I kind of know the cast now that I've been so many times. But whenever I'm there, I really can't think of any other place I'd rather be.

I also feel more at home in a theatre than at like a baseball game or a mall. There's just this great feeling that I get when I go see a show. The theatre that I feel most comfortable in is the August Wilson Theatre for a couple of reasons. One being, I've been to that theatre(LSOH-5 times, Little Women-1 time, and Jersey Boys-4 times), the other being that I'm reconized by some of the cast of Jersey Boys when I wait at the stage door and that they are just such a wonderful group of people.

I completely agree. I feel like I'm at home any time I step into a theater. That's what hapens when you love it so much and see as many shows as possible.

I love the smells of Theatres, especially the Majestic Theatre! I've see PHANTOM 8 times, so I certainly feel at home when I walk in the Majestic each time!

I also love the sound of the ticket scanner! All the excitement is beginning when you hear that sound!

What a great thread!

I feel the same way. I've been going to shows nearly every weekend for a while now and if I miss a weekend, I feel like something is missing.

Wow, what a great thread.

I most definitely feel at home at the theatre. The first theatre I felt at home in was our community theatre center. As a young teeny bopper, I thought I was hot stuff making my way to the dressing room. Later on, it was the high school theatre and theatres that I frequent for touring/local productions. Whenever I walk in, I feel a sense of calm. I most definitely recognize the theatre smell.

I also feel at home with some shows. I've seen RENT many times, and the Nederlander is starting feel like home. In addition, I could see the touring production in a different venue and have that same feeling.

Today was my birthday, and the best part of my day was my commute (thanks to my collection of recordings) and reading this thread. Tomorrow, I will be celebrating my birthday by what else - seeing a show. It's a show that I've already seen, but I'm looking forward to seeing it again! I've also already chosen my birthday present- a cast recording of the show I'm going to see.

So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?
