Thanks ljay...maybe I'll rush it. I'm just debating making the trek up to the theater for this show...and Elaine.

This'll be my first time at the PaperMill if I go.

The production (especially Elaine) is completely worth the trek. You cannot beat $20. Papermill is a beautiful theater in a beautiful area. As long as you can make the train, it's worth it.

The audience today was about 90% geriatrics (you should have seen the number of walkers lined up in the back), and they all seemed to enjoy the show, and got a kick out of the "dirty" humor. I was pleasantly surprised.

Just got back from the matinee. I was shocked at all the elderly that were there.... and even more shocked at how funny they thought it was! Anyway, off to the review.

They did a fairly good job with it. I've never been to the Paper Mill before and was greatly pleased and surprised that they did the backgrounds exactly like Broadway. Moving sets and all.

I was 50/50 on the cast. Wayne Wilcox is no Patrick Wilson (or Will Chase) . I don't know if the show was getting to him, but it sounded like his voice was straining.
Joe Coots (Dave) and Milton Craig Nealy (Horse) were well cast. Michael Rupert (Harold) to me just seemed to be there. Nothing special, nothing horrible. Just there. My favorites of the show, though were Allan E. Reid (Malcom) and Jason Babinsky (Ethan). They both looked like they were having great fun. Reid had the best voice out of the entire cast... Was very surprised when he started singing "You Walk With Me". Babinsky played Ethan's crazy Donald O'Connor wanna-be with so much fun.

The guy who played the stripper Keno, Xander Chauncey, he was kinda awesome.

On what will probably be an unpopular note, I do not see what the big deal about Elaine Stritch is. I cringed every time she had to open her mouth. To me, she was the worst thing about the show. Kathleen Freeman (rest her soul) she is DEFINITELY not.

All in all, I think I'd give it a B/B-. It was good fun. Sorry if there's not a lot of description though. I'm very tired and am now off to bed. It's been a looooong day.
