They aimed for 90 and hit, maybe, 25 at best. They just don't have what it takes to write what they wanted to write. It's like a good comedian who yearns to do a tragedy.
"
...once again CARRIE was dependant [sic]
on the reviews and once again the critics killed it... it certainly seems that the audience likes this show much more than the critics."
Reductive and just plain
wrong statements like those do no one any favors. The critics didn't "kill" the show, and many audience members thought it was a piece of utter garbage.
You may have liked it, your friends may have liked it, but it failed because not enough people were telling people it was worth seeing (because, in my opinion, it wasn't worth seeing).
It's not like these writers are at all prolific - they've done very little in their careers, considering how old they are and how early they started. They should be glad they got a chance at all to do better work; what they should regret is that they were completely unable to do better work.
