Wow, is this the same board that was ready to crucify her before?
I still don't like her and hope she doesn't transfer to Broadway.

I am surprised in a good way as well. She clearly has a great PR person, this is the best thing to bury her lip sync flub of last year. To go from that to a Broadway show which is the antithesis of pre-recorded anything most of the time is a smart move.
I have to reluctantly admit that she looks absolutely gorgeous. How much plastic surgrey did she HAVE?

Hmm, she say she sang the wrong words. What does that remind you of?
She wasn't bad...but she's so stiff. Thanks for posting the video!
The first time I played the video, the audio and picture were choppy. And I swear at first I thought they were introducing Chicago with a clip of Ruthie from London. But then I realized it was Ashlee and thought she couldn't be too bad if I mistook her for Ruthie.
Then I watched the video on my laptop (which is a lot better then my computer) with perfect audio and picture, and while she looked okay, she sounded awful and just awful.
So, I guess we shall see.

She looks like a prettier version of Kate Hudson. That's really freaky.
I wonder if the fact that she's kinda smokin' now (when before she was kinda homely) will change the perception much of the general public has about her.
WOW, this is just MY opinion, but were we all watching the same video?
Was she even acting anywhere at all? and that obnoxious laugh...ughh.
and don't think I am just a hater of Ashlee because I always thought she was the better Simpson, but either way, i'm really not liking anything she did AT ALL in the video.
*MY PERSONAL OPINION*
She seems alright.
But the day this girl does ANYTHING like Gwen Verdon will be the day!

Good for her!!
Everyone calm down.
Yes, she is young.
Yes, she's a stage virgin.
Yes, she has a lot to learn.
But give the girl some serious credit for stepping up to the plate and taking a chance.
Maybe this is what she was made for. Maybe Musical Theatre is gonna bring the true performer out in her. She clearly looks amazing and is working her ass off in rehearsals.
Looking forward to someone giving a full report on opening night from across the pond.
She looks soooo much different!! She sounds okay, about what I expected. Her dancing doesn't look too bad, though. Hopefully she'll improve the singing throughout the run.
My personal opinion is that it doesn't matter how good she turns out to be, the people on this board want her to fail. Give the girl a chance, she obviously has done somthing right to make it past all the bad press from the past couple of years.
Actually if you read this thread, it DOES seem like people are giving her a chance. That's a big change from what people were saying earlier before pictures and video were released. Some people were already celebrating her when they saw pictures of her in costume (even though that has little to do with her actual performance). So it seems that most are yes, giving her a chance.
Who knows how much rehearsal has taken place, or anything like that? The only real thing to do is just to wait and see what see does with the role once she opens.
And I agree, she won't be the worst Roxie.
This looks intriguing. Her dancing was obviously off which is what rehearsal, obviously, is for and it didn't help that she was standing in front of two trained Fosse/jazz style dancers. I think the situation could be a lot worse and that she will gain a lot of experience and respect for this role if she truly dedicates.
I don't understand why she just won't talk about the plastic surgery. It is perfectly obvious she had a nose job so there is no reason she should try to hide it by not talking about it. She can't hide it... it's written all over her face!
Maybe someone will get some sense and burn down the theatre before opening night.
It wasn't a nose job it was Jessica's face!
