Asking for free playbills on Instagram- Page 2

Honestly, I would be okay with it if this person just messaged me asking for a playbill. I could tell them no, and then if they found me in a location tag again they would see that I'd already said no. What I think is the problem here is that this user is just blindly commenting on everything that's in the tag. It's just way too much.

And as someone who collects playbills and sees a lot of shows, I can at least understand what this person is asking for. It's got to be kinda freaky for someone who maybe came to New York on a trip from Alabama for other reasons and just happened to see a show. When they went to the Museum of Modern Art they didn't have someone ask them to send them a free brochure.

There are plenty of annoying people on social media. I block them without thinking twice.

To me this crosses into rudeness. However I don't have an issues with "Hey I noticed you were seeing X show, I was wondering if you might be able to grab me an extra playbill if you get the chance and I can pay for the shipping". AKA Provided it is 1. before they see the show, 2. you are covering shipping.

It sounds like this person just sifts through the hashtags and geotags to find people to contact. So just...don't hashtag or geotag your post. Seems like an easy enough solution.

Thank you. It's like some of the people in this thread have never had to deal with an annoying person on social media before. If they bother you, block them and move on.

Wow, Alabama girl was busy last night. I too got the Playbill request after seeing Beetlejuice. Yes, I did grab an extra Playbill on the way out (it was left on a seat, so I'm not draining the theatre's inventory), but nope, you aren't getting it girl. Very annoying tbh.
