It also re-airs in New York on Saturday (late Fri night) at 1am. Just in case your Thurs prime time Tivo schedule is full like mine.
Patti Lupone, Jason Robert Brown and Nellie Mckay, as well.
I'll be watching.
I was there last night (no taping) and it was magnificent. we haven't seen her in four years but she is back in a big way. also, the guests each do only one song, but they shan't disapoint either.
For some reason our local PBS affiliate isn't airing this. I checked the schedule through the end of the weekend and it is not listed. Man am I pissed!
i'm watching it now. God what did Arthur Levy do to her voice? She got a huge vibrato now. A wollop of a wobble. The Gl a a a a a mourous li i i i i i fe. Oh god.

That was wonderful, but I'm disappointed she didn't sing Dividing Day.

That's called a vibrato, not a wobble and she's always had that. If you listen to Carousel you'll hear it. It's called being a dramatic soprano with a big voice. It happens, but this isn't anything new for her.
Audra + Patti = Life. The end.
Some of the song choices were a bit unfortunate, but the voice is better than ever.
And Patti - *fans self*
Audra was fantastic and what a joy to hear "Happy Days/Get Happy" done correctly! Patti "I'll be Judy" LuPone kicked ass as usual!
Wobble?
You want a wobble? Listen to Callas circa 1970 or Renata Scotto circa 1988. Those are wobbles..
Audra's concert tonight was exemplary vocalism - end of story.
Brava.
I'm trying to see if it's airing in my area, what is it officially called?
Live from Lincoln Center or something.
Thanks.
I missed the first 45 minutes and they're not replaying it in my area!!! What did she sing with Jason Robert Brown?
it didn't play in Houston.
*sigh*
I caught a little bit of this tonight. There were just too many things to watch. I hope they re-air it in DC. It was the first time I noticed that Audra had quite a distinctive vibrato.
taboo, i was feeling particularly generous tonight so i looked up when the concert will be playing in houston- tomorrow night @ nine. if live at lincoln center didn't play in your area tonight, be sure to check out pbs.org and find out when it will! (that was in an announcer voice that doesn't translate through written word.)
and rath, in what ways were you disapointed in the song selection?
I taped the entire thing since it was on against the second half of Ugly Mary and all of Grey's Anatomy....so I am pouring a cocktail, hitting the kitchen to cook a bit, cranking up the surround sound and listening to Audra!

Audra just amazes me. There were many times when I sat there, watching her, with my mouth hanging wide open.
Audra's vibrato is GORGEOUS. I don't hear a hint of a wobble.
