This may turn out to be a moot point, depending on the price situation during the last week of Funny Girl, but I was curious about seating suggestions - or areas to avoid - at the August Wilson Theatre.
How is the mezzanine? Is Row K of the mezzanine OK in the center? What about the suspiciously cheaper prices on the far sides of Row L? There appears to be some sort of bar in front, which may or may not be a problem. (My wife and I are both average height for our genders.)
As for the orchestra section, what about the partial view seats, either close to the stage or way in back? I’m not too worried about the other seats aside from price. Should I be?
Some Broadway theaters are pretty intimate no matter where you are. Others can feel pretty distant depending on the location.

I sat in the last few rows of the right side orchestra of Mean Girls (rush tickets) and it was a very good view

For the 1stvact of FUNNY GIRL the front mezz would be fine. For the 2nd act you might want to consider moving onto the sidewalk.

I actually sat in the very last row of the mezz for Funny Girl but it was right up against the wall and directly up the aisle so there were stairs, not seats, in front of me. Aside from the distance, it was actually a surprisingly great spot for the price!

Unfortunately for me, the price is probably not going to be good no matter where I sit because I’m probably only there on the Wednesday of the show’s final week. (We’re in town for a wedding.) The last two weeks are grim in terms of cost as of now. The cheapest seats are $222 (Row L, side mezzanine, suspicious-looking barriers in photos) and then slightly better seats are $278 (Row K, center mezzanine). Everything else is $335 or more for side orchestra or front mezzanine. We may decide to skip it for that reason alone because I can’t justify spending that kind of money.
But just in case, I wanted to get an idea about what the best option might be for people who have seen Funny Girl at the August Wilson. I can look at Seat Plan and A View from My Seat, but if I’m paying that kind of money, I am trying to get the best advice possible from people who actually have seen it (even if the sidewalk is preferable for the second act).

I’ve sat in many different areas of the August Wilson many times, and usually find that my favorite seats are mid-front orchestra on the sides. Even far over, the sight-lines are pretty good. I’ve had my best partial view experiences in that theater.

I sat in the front center mezz (somewhere about 5-6 rows back) for Groundhog Day and it was the most physically uncomfortable theatre-going experience I've ever had. I am 5'10" and the leg room was so lacking that I had to point my knees off to one side in order to sit down. Fortunately, I saw the show with my husband and he didn't mind my knees intruding on his space. We later saw the show again from the orchestra, where the seating was much more comfortable.

Worse leg room than the infamous Studio 54 Mezz?

I would avoid row G of the mezzanine at all costs - I saw there last May, and it is not as inclined as the rest of the rows in the mezzanine, so the heads in front of you will block your view. Other than that, I've sat all over the theatre, and never had a problem.

We saw Cabaret from the mezz at Studio and I don't recall it being as excruciating as the August Wilson.

Thanks for bringing up another awful aspect of the August Wilson mezzanine, which I forget to mention in my previous post. The rake is so mild that we found ourselves continually tilting our heads from side to side, in an attempt to see around those in front of us. It was exhausting.
