Lasting 4+ years (EDIT: 5+ years by closing!) after opening in the midst of the pandemic is nothing to scoff at. Plus it has been one of the few new musicals to recoup post-covid.Yes, it's limped along for awhile now but it had a strong and successful run.

The first movie clearly helped the stage show's grosses. The second movie may have hurt it some or it also could be just an overcorrection from the Wicked mania that lasted basically from when the first movie was released to shortly after the second movie was released.
