These reviews are... fine. Probably won't hurt ticket sales much since so much of its run is already sold at very high prices. But it doesn't seem like this will be remembered much come Tony time especially in a stacked season for plays, especially play revivals.

I know Flash is super annoying but for an awards junkie like myself, I am already thinking about what the Tonys could look like. Feels like it could be a Paddington vs. Benjamin Button vs. Warriors showdown but obviously a lot could change and more shows could announce. Evita and The Sound of Music will probably be threats in a lot of categories too where they are eligible.

So not June 28, 2026 like you told us awhile ago? In all seriousness though, this was a solidly long run for a tiny show. Like others have said, I'm guessing the reason for closing a few weeks before Christmas has to do with the star contracts or perhaps a possible extension if sales pick up. I liked but didn't love this show though I found Tutty and Pitts very charming.

I don't think one is better than the other necessarily but it definitely seems like Simard is putting her own spin on the role from that short clip.

Good week all around. Nice to see Titanique posting strong numbers heading into its final weeks. I feel like it doesn't get talked about much but MJ is such a beast. #2 grossers behind Hamilton. Unless it can get a Halloween boost, it feels like it'll be a rough fall for Stranger Things which seems to have no additional interest after the closing announcement.

Lasting 4+ years (EDIT: 5+ years by closing!) after opening in the midst of the pandemic is nothing to scoff at. Plus it has been one of the few new musicals to recoup post-covid.Yes, it's limped along for awhile now but it had a strong and successful run.

People have been predicting Six to either close or move to NWS for YEARS now. It still could happen but I'll believe it when an official announcement is made.

I wanted a little more from this production from a direction and design standpoint but I adored this cast and will always be thrilled and grateful I got to see Joshua Henry sing this part.

For me personally, I am all for it. It will not discourage me from seeing live shows but if I can see the original cast doing it after the fact, that's awesome. I first saw Hamilton after some of the original cast left and was thrilled to see the proshot. I think the concern that it will hurt a show is overblown. If anything, it might help the show's legacy. The first movie clearly helped the stage show's grosses. The second movie may have hurt it some or it also could be just an overcorrection from the Wicked mania that lasted basically from when the first movie was released to shortly after the second movie was released.
