C'mon now. $1,000.00 for a poster? I love a good windowcard as much as the next guy (if not more) but a thousand dollars????
You'd think the seller could have thrown in free shipping at least.

You could spend a thousand dollars on this OR you could wait a few weeks, spend $20 on the plain poster and bring it to the stage door and get it signed there.

to whoever said wait and bring it to the stage door in a few weeks, they are redoing the card for the broadway run so this off-Broadway card is now considered a collectors item

I'm assuming this is the same poster that 'Hamilton' was selling for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS for $250 at the Public. It's repellent that someone is profiting off items sold for charity.

Didn't BC/EFA go through additional precautions in hopes to prevent the resale of these posters? It's a shame that someone is personally profiting off an item that was sold for charity, but the blame should probably be directed towards the person who is buying it. I guess that's the downfall of a wildly successful show: people suddenly wanting a piece of the pie.

Why is it a shame? BC/EFA got the money they were asking for it. If this person is selling it now for more and some (idiotic) person buys it, what does that matter? Was there something they signed saying they had to hold onto it forever and if they were ever to pass it on, they must do it for a set price?

It's been a while since I've bid on an eBay auction but in the bid history it does say reserve met. Couldn't that mean the one bidder had to unknowingly meet the reserve set at $1,000 by the seller and it took him three bids to finally get there? Thus making it not fraudulent ...just a bit ridiculous that anyone would actually spend that much.

That seems like a very plausible explanation. Though the part that still doesn't track is that the 1st bid was $500, then $550, then $1000. If you didn't know what the reserve was, wouldn't you keep inching up by $25 or $50 each time until you finally hit it rather than going straight from $550 to $1000? If the person's goal was to hit the reserve and he or she didn't know what it was, a $450 bump straight to $1000 does not seem like something a rational person would do. it seems suspicious.

So much autograph fraud on eBay. I would rather (if I had $1000) have spent it with BC/EFA - at least the money would have gone to a good cause, and is probably largely tax deductible. But to enrich some goon? No thanks.
