John Tartaglia signed on for another year. I am not sure about the rest of the cast. I assume they're staying as well...
I heard the most adorable new commercial for Avenue Q on the radio yesterday... and the voice narrating it was none other than that of John Tartaglia!
Hmmm, really? You wouldn't happen to have a copy of it?
No, but if I hear it again I can try to tape it.
I believe the entire cast has signed on for another year. Yay!

Oh, thank goodness.

Yep, I heard the whole cast was signed through another season/
OK...I had the chance to see it in April but opted for another show. I have really tried to like the OCR, but I just can't get into it. I thought the Tony performance was good but for some reason I won't see the show. Should I give this show a chance? And yes, I am just a wee bit bitter that it won Best Musical. That's why I feel like I should see it though.
I would just like to take this time to say; I don't care who the cast is, as long as the show stays on Broadway long enough for me to get a chance to see it I'll be happy.
Uncageg, definitely give it a chance. I bought the OCR a few months before seeing the show and just couldn't get into it. It was funny, but it didn't do anything for me. After I saw the show and could listen to the songs on the CD in context, I enjoyed it a lot more. Avenue Q is definitely a show with a lot of heart and a lot of honesty, and it's just plain funny. Don't be discouraged by the CD; do give it a chance.
I adore the CD, but I did see the show first; I don't know what the experience is like reversed. The puppets, the book, and the parallels to children's television definitely add to the full Avenue Q experience (and so do the Bad Idea Bears, who are all but missing on the recording).
Definitely see it; it's such a gem of a musical, I daresay that anyone who doesn't like it is a crazy loon with no taste.
OK Luv, I am going to put it on my list for my trip to NYC in the fall! Plus, I wanna see it also because that John Tartaglia is just too darned cute for words! :)
when i asked john if they were moving to vegas, he said they were working it out and probably not any time soon.
my mom asked him how long he was going to do the show and he said that he loved it and he was going to be with it for a long time.
hope that helps :)

Well that's a good reason if I ever heard one!

Well, of course, would John say "I'm out of this stupid show- next month!" That's too generic of a response.
They have signed on for this next one- but I have my reasons, and I suspect that this will be the last time they re-sign.
So they will be there this winter GREAT!!!!

You also have to remember, they've been doing this show for a long while now. It's been a year on Broadway, but don't forget the off-Broadway run. We're pretty lucky they've signed on for another year, but they probably won't do another one after that; catch this phenomenal original cast while you can!

The whole cast was with the show through all the workshops too I think. So they all have been with it for a long time.

The current projected deal is for the current New York cast to go to Vegas for the first three months of the run there. At one point that was thought to possibly be around January or February but it all depends on the building of the theater there and how long it takes. Then they come back to Broadway after a replacement cast takes over in Vegas.
