That's pathetic. Money makes the world go round.

So much of the show seems to have been cut. Some school editions work (such as RENT, which only cuts Contact and a handful of lines), but some don't. This one seems like it just won't.
If you have to have to completely rewrite and change the songs, maybe that's a good sign that there just shouldn't be a school edition.

This is the dumbest sh*t I've ever heard of.

Do you guys go to a lot of school plays or something? I don't understand why this has people all lathered up.

Because high school theatre should look exactly like Broadway, Phyllis! You should know that!
I can't imagine there is a huge market for this. Schools in my area have trouble with Guys and Dolls being too racy.

Except for the last line, what the hell is wrong with "My Girlfriend Who Lives in Canada" ??
Does it work without the last line?

"She cooks like my mother and sucks like a hoover" is pretty suggestive.
And "there wasn't a thing that we could do but stay in bed... with her legs up over her head! Unhh!"

I was actually in the first production of the school edition back in 2007. I have also seen the show numerous times and it truly is not that different. Yes two songs are fully cut and one is changed but it really does stay true to the show. While watching it people still laughed as hard and all the racy jokes are still in the show. The only line changes are very small and "F*CK" is taken out.
LuPonatic i think it totally depends on the school. I know the school I attend would do it if they wanted to but then again all schools are different. So what if a limited number of schools do it- its still more than are doing it now.
It truly is a great school edition and im quite excited to see how schools deal with it.
