The duet between Emma and Henry in the ballroom scene in the first act was "Take Me As I Am." I loved that song, especially when Robert Evan and Christiane Noll were in the show. It was Warlow's cd that made me want to see the show in the first place. I've seen different versions of J&H on tour, with different leads, and I think any one of those productions is better than what ended up on Broadway. Hasselhoff was a mess. I thought both Roberts were excellent in the role of Jekyll/Hyde. Evan most definitely had the better voice. In my May 1999 Playbill, Robin Phillips was the director. The original Alley Theatre Production was directed by Gregory Boyd. I believe a concert version is in the works for 2005/2006.

Bumping the BWW Jekyll and Hyde Fan thread!
""I thought both Roberts were excellent in the role of Jekyll/Hyde. Evan most definitely had the better voice""
I will agree that the Bd'w show certaintly had it's faults, but it was interesting to see the many actors play the major 3 roles. Robert Cucciolo was the most realistic and threatening Hyde and Rob Evan surely the best singing Jekyll of them all, not just in my opinion, but Frank openly agreed at Rob's last show.
They were good times when Wildhorn had both SP & J&H both running at the same time. He had some amazing talent with Cuccioli, Evan, Eder, Noll, Sills, Andreas and Mann all playing respective roles in both his shows. And many had a great time enjoying it all.
Giving a HUGE shout out to the Warlow--Amen!!

I love this show! It was one of the first shows I saw in Atlanta, back in the day. And Chuck Wagner...*sigh*. He was perfect. I just wanted to express my love for this show. And the costumes. The costumes are beautiful.
I think it's time to listen to Jekyll and Hyde again...
Ooh looks like our version with Paul Nicholas got something you Americans didn't get then! Our version includes THE WORLD HAS GONE INSANE!!! ... But on the other hand it stars Paul Nicholas. *sulk*.
Now, I know AW has said he doesn't want to go to Broadway, but has anyone ever asked him about the West End...
I prefer the lyrics to DANGEROUS GAME from the Complete Recording, but prefer the lyrics to FACADE from the OBC. I just don't see where the class struggle comes into the show. Though when I went to see the PN version they amalgamated the two, which meant I heard my fave lyrics but felt it went on a little too long. Plus you could hear where the first version finished.
The World HAs Gone Insane is a cool song with weird lyrics
Another bump.
I just discovered this thread and am so happy. J&H is one of my favorites. Forget the critics, J&H rocks!
I saw the DVD and I thought it wasn't that bad. Hasselhoff was definitely the worst, but I thought Andrea Rivette and Coleen sexton were amazing, especially Sexton. She and Eder are the best Lucy's ever. I only have the OBC and my fvaorite songs are the first Facade and any song that Lucy sings especially Someone Like You, In His Eyes, Dangerous Game, and A New Life.

Woo a J&H fan thread! This makes my day. I just watched the DVD again. Good stuff. I agree that Hasselhoffs not that great, but he didn't do too bad I guess. Sexton was amazing. I love the music. I'm listening to it right now in fact! My favorite is In His Eyes, but I love Take Me As I Am, Someone Like You, and A New Life as well. Good stuff.
