I just loved the show, but I agree that the sound mix was REALLY off; the sound was muted and almost foggy at times. The performances are totally excellent and I'm really sorry I didn't get to see this on stage. The horns and big band sounds should be so crisp and clear and sometimes it was, but not all the way through. I also think the editing of the choreography could have been much MUCH better. What's wrong with showing a whole complete dance from the entire stage view?
I will see this again and I hope subsequent showings or blu-ray will fix these glitches.
Laura Osnes and Corey Cott (and his hairy chest) really do rule this show emotionally and vocally. They are both terrific!!

"The horns and big band sounds should be so crisp and clear and sometimes it was, but not all the way through..."
This is a true. A recording of a show about the creation of music needs to be expertly adjusted and presented. The show is an entreaty to appreciate live music; it should soar and lift the audience. I'm baffled by the disappointing quality. Maybe someone here with knowledge of the challenges of getting a performance on film could amplify. It doesn't make sense, the muted section and the occasional volume lapses.

His hairy chest is even better than Alastair Brammer’s in Fathom’s “Miss Saigon.”
Maybe we need a new category: “Best Feature (of an) Actor” ?

This is hilarious. Mr. Brammer's is more subtle due to his coloring, where Mr. Cott's is stark and makes a statement. ![]()

It's nice to see there are other fans of (not only) Corey Cott, but his hairy chest ! Normally, we have to shave all the hair from certain places for certain roles. I wonder if, when "Bandstand" tours if one of the requirements for "Donny" will be "must have hairy chest"!! Ha-a! At least we can enjoy his for now!

I agree that it was nice to see an actor who wasn't waxed within an inch of his life and as hairless as a plastic Ken doll!

Being a guy with a hairy chest (lol), I wondered if there is a reason why actors are hairless.

According to the show's website, there will be a few encore screenings on 15 and 19 November, in some cinemas in New York and adjacent regions. (Haven't heard anything about potential future international screenings, though... anyone?)

I hope so, I'd really like to see it. It wasn't shown in Canada.

Went last night in South Florida with an audience of about 35. Glad I saw it on Broadway. The film gets in its own way by constant cutting to different camera angles. The big dance numbers are rarely shown looking at the entire stage.
There were no sound mixing issues and the cast and musicians sounded great. Sorry this didn't find a bigger audience in NY as it seems like there will be no tour heading out on the road.

No idea but it would be nice if it does make it to BroadwayHD.
