I did something terrible guys. I accidently I swear not on purpose went into a wicked thread and read what some of them had to write. Granted I do like wicked but not that much!

Ok, Mesmerized and I really, really love you guys, we just couldn't help ourselves reading through all 14 pages that we missed while we were gone!! It is sooo funny how we were actually 600 miles closer to most of you, but felt soooo much further away!!!
The last performance of Aida was full of mixed emotion. We went through a lot during our Aida days, but are ready to move into the Bare era. We have known since the first day of Aida, that we would end up at the last show, but it was so strange for that day to finally come, and we were still obsessed with finding any glimpse of something Bare related to cling to.
We walked past the Dodger Stages, and the outside and the lobby looked very nice, but you can tell it is not finished. We were in a hurry, but behind the theatre there is a cute sitting area and some stores, looked like it might be a cute place to meet new friends and have lunch. *winks at fellow October 13th goers*
We also saw four or five posters and a guy standing in front of a hotel with a Bare messanger bag to keep the flame burning, okay maybe a little TOO much attention to Bare detail.
Anyway, just for a quick catching up thank you sooo much for the link to the interview, and welcome to all the new posters!! And of course, I am happy for you all going to the flea market on the 19th, but alas I will be patiently waiting to see if I have that weekend off to make a quick one night trip, which I will not hold my breath for. Only gone less than 24 hours and already needing to be back, oh well what can ya do?

It was interesting to read in that article that they have come up with all of this background history for these characters, which is something we do to an extent on this thread. It's an interesting show to cull bits and pieces from. The audience is just sort of dropped in on that very specific moment in time, so it almost behooves the audience to imagine what led them there. I just wonder how much of what's intended actually matches what the audience dreams up.
Might be an interesting question for the Q&A.

I think John mentioned that in an interview, didn't he? That he journals different thoughts for Jason and goes to different ones for each performance to get into a certain mindframe?
Or did I just make that up?

Welcome back mesmerized and adampascalgal glad the trip went well.
So real world = gayest season ever. literally. hahaha! I feel like after karamo came out and then they went to the gay club and MJ was like I love this its cool, he was going to be like, "and its making me think some things through...I think Im gay too!" HA!

Alright guys. I'm off on my 3-day drive across the country (it seemed like a really good idea in May...) I'll miss you all, but this'll be the first thing I check when I get to school and get the internet hooked up. I'll miss you all (especially you, fake bf!) Okay, I know I just said goodbye for three days and all, but I have exciting news (well, exciting for me...) Okay, so I'm going to be in NYC in October for opening weekend and I had promised my friend who is coming to visit me in November that I wouldn't see bare w/out her, so I wasn't going to see it. But i was talking to her tonight and she said go for it since it's opening weekend and all, so i just ordered tickets for the Oct. 16 matinee and now i'm never going to go to sleep, but i have to get up at 5 to get on the road... But I'm really, really excited. I didn't really consult the friend I'm going with, but she can deal with it :)

Bare is apparently scheduled to open on broadway (THATS RIGHT, BROADWAY!) in the coming spring!! one of the cast members (not mentioning names) who used to attend my school and keeps up old relations was online today and spilled the beans!! i cant wait- i may be going to New York this spring break! YIPEE!! hee hee hee! life is good!

Thanks for the welcome! I am from LA anyone else from good old city of angels? And I saw BARE in a TINY theater called the Hudson (it's located in West Hollywood) in 1999! I can't wait to go to NY to see it again in November, yay!

Just for those who love this sort of thing, I also live in LA and saw 'bare' in its first staged reading. I have no doubt that there are 60 songs left over because in that reading, the first act ran more than 90 minutes long. It was down on Santa Monica Blvd.
