Oh 2day, gotta luv u...
we do LOVE our 2day!
Too bad it's cause I'm STUPID! LOL
Um, you have my address, right???
I think it got lost in the mix, I have so many!
HOW IS THIS THREAD STILL NOT ON THE OFF-TOPIC BOARD?
Maybe Craig and Rob know how passionate we are, so they just don't care and like to keep us happy!
And if not, I absolutely love Bare! Can we get some Natalie and Jenna love on the stage, please? And SOON! Thanks

Talk about not good, did you all see this yet?
https://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=1417
EDITED: I did however like the ending of the article where Damon say's that there should hopefully be a cast recording in the future. Also his other projects seem promising, too bad they are in LA. Maybe it will be a push to travel west instead of east for once? Wouldn't it be funny if Bare ended up touring and actually came to MI, don't worry you can all stay with me? What a funny twist of events that would be.

I don't know if it's been posted guys...
www.thebarees.com, the official Bare fan-site will be discontinued. No reason for it, just says the site will end.
Not a good sign.
AG is sad

So let me get this straight. I come home to find out that:
1) The Yankees lost.
2) The Barees site is closing.
3) Damon sounds about as optimistic as I feel about Bare ever seeing life on a NYC stage any time soon.
I'll be in the corner, in the fetal position, crying and ranting. Thank you.
The only good thing to happen was that I got together with Trisky to see the Downtown Plays tonight and Jackie Hoffman might be the funniest person alive.
Okay, I go cry now. :/

Well this is certainly cheerful news to come home too. Or, you know, maybe not.
I guess I'm okay with it, because I pretty much stopped believing it would be produced when they first made the announcement. Call me a pessimist, who knows maybe I am, but it just didn't seem likely that the money would fall out of the sky and/or be raised in enough time to keep the actors they have now.
I do hope that Damon, if no one else, gets to record his "baby" so that he can preserve the work he's done over the past several years (along with, obviously, Jon and Kristin) and if we get to hear it one day that would be even better.
The thing I might be most grateful for, besides the show itself, is that introduced me to a boatload of talent (both onstage and off) I probably would have never heard of otherwise. Wherever their careers may take them, I think they should still be proud of the work they did with this show and the impact it had on so many people.
I sound like I'm writing a dirge song but really I'm not. I actually feel better having more information and feeling at least some sense of closure. I'm sure the show will be reborn in some incarnation at some point, maybe not now, maybe not anytime soon, but it will be. I think the power of art is it's ability to stay with you, make you think, move you and color your world in different shades you may never have conceived of before. I think Bare is art and because of that, it won't ever really leave.
Now I go fling myself off my terrace.

This however does sound amazing:
Aside from BARE, there’s lots more on Damon’s plate at the moment. Ann. E. Wrecksick & the Odyssey of the Bulimic Orphans (co-written with Scott Allgauer) will open in LA again in the late Spring of 2005, and Plop will premiere in LA in Fall 2005; Kristin Hanggi will direct both.
I would so fly to California to support Damon, Scott and Kristin despite my "no fly-ee, no die-ee" rule.
Le sigh.

Let us not forget this:

This sounds really, really interesting.

I'm devastated to read that BARE is probably not going to happen. In New York, anyway. But what he says about all the intricacies of a NY production is so true in terms of rights. You can't just do a show in New York. Whoever produces it in New York gets extended rights for many years and everything has to be negotiated. If they are going into this with a liability from the first run then it only makes things more complicated.
I've not see Ann E. Wrecksick but I have seen a staged reading of Plop, which is about a boy band and is very reminiscent of Bare. Once again, great music. As in any first reading, the book needed some work but Damon is like a little music machine. He will be back.
We're hoping to get together for breakfast soon out here on the coast.
Meanwhile, we do Big Voice in Palm Springs, then up to San Luis Obispo and San Francisco around the first of December. I'll keep you guys posted on our possible return to New York as soon as I have any news.
