Karen, as far as capitalization go, I use bare, Bare, and BARE. I have seen all three used during the NYC run, though it WAS all lowercase during the LA days.

Oh no! See, I was like, "All right, Steve, obviously you're way too good to email me back..."
Try nyckaren@gmail.com. I'm off to LONDON!!! for Bat Boy opening next week (and lots of other shows in the two weeks that I'm out there) but I'll have access to this email address.

Karen, I'd love an answer to your question! For some reason the occasionally (flawed, very, very, flawed) grammar fanatic in me won't let me type a lowercase "b", even though I'm pretty sure that's the correct way.
The grammar maven in me would normally not spell it with all lowercase letters either but in the interest of using lowercase because it's the way the official title is (was), I always hated spelling it "Bare" and kept insisting on using "bare". Oy, now I've stopped making sense altogether.

I came up with a question while listening to No Voice. When everyone makes their "Dear Jason" speeches, what are they addressing? If it's at graduation, is there a coffin on stage? Are they looking up? How is that staged?

That's morbid.
I'm thinking it's figurative. Matt might be the only one doing an actual speech since he was second behind Jason for Valedictorian.

My Lord you've been busy little bees this morning. Must try and catch up!
It's so nice to know I'm loved around here....*tear*
Aww...I always miss my fake boyfriend and all the fake coupley things we don't do! LOL!

Hey Alana! I loved those songs too and Kaitlin mentioned that the cd would be for sale when Bare came back in the fall. She may also have an official site (not sure) so you might want to check there as well.

There's no coffin, they're just dressed up for graduation and singing while looking straight and up. Matt stands on the stairwell and after he sings, takes off his graduation stole/sash from around his neck and lets it fall to the ground.
Aaah! I can't keep up with this thread - I'm gonna have to lock myself up and live as a recluse to stay up-to-date. Like a certain male organ we all know and love, this thread keeps growing and growing, and thus keeps getting better and better.
About bare/Bare/BARE: I know the marketing campaign spells it with all lower-case letters, but the name gets lost in posts when it's written that way (people ask, "bare? Bare what?"). So I prefer all capitals - it stands out more. Does anyone else think they should eliminate the "A Pop Opera" part?
By the way, Trisky and 13, the "At Swim, Two Boys" off-topic thread is up! Please join me, it's getting lonely.

Final scene speeches note -- Matt's speech in the final scene is teh same as teh speech matt has during "Epiphany" when there IS a coffin onstage and peter can't make out who is in it.

That's right. I had totally forgotten about that. It really brings the show full circle.

Hey. i'm sorry if this is off the topic, or if this question has already been asked... but its hard to sort through 92 pages of posts. I was at the BARE encore performance... the final one, and i am trying to find the name of the ..erg, Alanis? song that Lindsay Scott sang. I figure this is the right group to ask.... b/c i don't belong to the Alanis message board.. so... thank you!!!
xo.

Hey J. It's called "Forgiven" and it's on Alanis' first cd!
unless there's a Bare II. LOL
BARE II....Peter - who decides to go to school in Canada rather than Berkeley because of the lower tuition rates - changes his name to Michael and falls in love with a dorky, somewhat-cute guy his age who studies Renaissance drama and spends his summers surfing BWW under the alias BlueWizard.
It'll sweep the Tonys.

"Forgiven" is a great track and somewhat BARE-related: it's about Alanis' disillusionment with her Catholic upbringing, how young girls are filled with so much Catholic guilt and are forced to confess their "deeds to an envious man."
down boy
Wish I heard that more often. *sigh*

Damon & Jon, are you out there?
I just read on Playbill.com that Michael won their "Performer of 2004" award along with Noah Racey. That is so great! There's a pic of Noah holding his award but no Michael.
Oh and NativeNewYorker, just read the Cheyenne interview. He sounds like such a great guy. Now I really, really can't wait until Altar Boyz!
Wow, congratulations to Michael! That is a HUGE honour!
YAY MIKEY! *does a little dance*
I have to say I'm still distracted by that Cheyenne interview though...
Wow! That is awesome. Congratulations michael!
