The Broadway's Lost Treasures people have been dying to include the Dreamgirls clip since the first one, but the Bennett estate won't license it to them (it apparently aired during the initial PBS showing in a couple of cities, but was quickly blocked from further broadcast). From what I've heard, John Breglio (Bennett's executor) and David Geffen (one of the heads of Dreamworks who was a producer of Dreamgirls on Broadway and the cast album and holds the rights) feel that the clip is way too special to be tossed in with a bunch of other ones on a compilation package of Tony highlights and are going to find some special way to re-introduce it to the public sometime in the near future.
My guess is that it will be used somehow to help sell the film version. I would bet that it ends up as an extra feature on the DVD.
