re: BEST performances by performers at the Tonys!

Does anyone have a clip of Kristen Chenoweth performing "My New Philosophy" at the Tonys?

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

The whole cast of Hairspray doing "You can't stop the beat", and Donna Murphy in "Wonderful Town" come to mind.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

Barbara Harris performing "I Wanna Be a Movie Star"/"Gorgeous" from THE APPLE TREE in 1967. The first time the Tonys were telecast nationally. She was amazing. I was a kid but the performance is still with me. I'll also never forget Judy Kaye hitting that high note at the conclusion of the TWENTIETH CENTURY excerpt in 1978. Thrilling!

I adore Barbara Harris and would kill to see that clip. Is that the one that's included on the first Broadway's Lost Treasures special features? I have to get that.

I know that some people have compiled bunches of Tony performance clips together on DVDs. I would love that.

I agree with all the people who had Miss Peters doing Roses Turn. It was amazing. Also the Evita performance was fabulous.

The Michael Crawford Website has a great clip of when he performed "Music of the Night" on the Tony's.

Now I know a lot of you are not fans....but that clip is a Broadway performance at it's absolute best!!

I think on the next installment of Broadway's Lost Treasures, they should include the Dreamgirls sequence. It's times like these I curse I wasn't born 20 years earlier so I could be old enough to have seen, and remembered, these shows.

The Broadway's Lost Treasures people have been dying to include the Dreamgirls clip since the first one, but the Bennett estate won't license it to them (it apparently aired during the initial PBS showing in a couple of cities, but was quickly blocked from further broadcast). From what I've heard, John Breglio (Bennett's executor) and David Geffen (one of the heads of Dreamworks who was a producer of Dreamgirls on Broadway and the cast album and holds the rights) feel that the clip is way too special to be tossed in with a bunch of other ones on a compilation package of Tony highlights and are going to find some special way to re-introduce it to the public sometime in the near future.

My guess is that it will be used somehow to help sell the film version. I would bet that it ends up as an extra feature on the DVD.
