you can listen to samples on itunes. it is a great recording.
she says "hoo hoo"
I heard (read in other posts) it was "woo-woo" - and that there wasn't much of a reaction.
I was in the 7th row of Orchestra right on the aisle (G1). It was excellent. Can't speak for the other side of Orchestra. Sorry.
That was YOU, Miss P!?!
D2, I guess everyone saw me because at the end of the show ****POTENTIAL SPOILER**** when Billy puts down his suitcase in the middle of the aisle, it was right next to me, so the spotlight was on Billy...and me!
Now do you know who I was?
Yes - one of the loveliest women in the audience last night!
Why thank you, D2. That is a very sweet thing to say.
But if you think I'M attractive, you should have seen the guy sitting to my left!

I'm a little sad tonight because I'm NOT seeing. Hope you love it as much as we all did!
Very interested in hearing about whoever plays Billy tonight.
So now that BWW has sufficiently hawked all of the Billy Elliot merchandise does anyone know when it will be available to purchase on-line?

I saw the dress rehearsal yesterday afternoon with david Alvarez as Billy and it was just amazing. They stopped twice but I still loved it. I think it will be interesting to see all the Billy's perform and see their differences. They all must be so talented. One of Billy's dance numbers in the middle of the show earned David a standing ovation...it was so cool and according to the director it was his first time on stage....crazy. His bio said he had never even tap danced before this and I never would have guessed that although he obviously had ballet training. Anyway, there's me gushing....just had to get that out.
In response to the thread above me I don't know about the merch online but I am actually working for the merchandise company and will be selling at the Billy Elliot shows so if I hear anything I'll let you know.

Hey, I just thought of a question somewhat related to this. How do they chose which Billy gets to do which things. So, who is on the cast recording, who does first preview, who does opening night, who's on the poster? I just didn't know if there was like one "main" billy or if they were all equal and split duties. Just wondering. Thanks!

So good to read all these positive reports. I'm so excited, can't wait! I'll be there Sat night. I also just bought tickets for early Dec, and let me tell you, they are going fast.
Frank Dolce is adorable! He adds a sweetness to the character that I did not see when played by the actor I saw in London. (Sorry I don't know the West End actor's name. He was excellent, just "different" from Dolce.)
Very likable, not smart-alecky, and just playful and joyous! He also tap dances up a storm! I loved how he and Kiril Kulish played off each other.
He's simply super!
WAT:
I was at the same performance...all I can say is..DITTO!
Kiril Kulish gave a star turn as did Frank Dolce. The pas de deux between Billy and his older self is thrilling. Billy's teacher....WOW!
Great review WAT as usual.
After work today, I went to the box office and bought two more sets of tickets...I'll be back on 10/14 and 11/3. Can't wait!!

There is no main Billy. I'm not sure just how it's decided who does what as far as the things you list, but they are indeed all considered equal. (Same with the boys who play Michael.)

thanks for the reviews.... very excited to see the show.
Did they have merchandise yet? Specifically a Window Card? Oh and prices too if you know cause i need to know just how broke i'm gonna be :)
They have tons and tons of merch, including a window card. Not sure on the price for the window card but the shirts range from $25-$35.
I saw the photo of merch and boy they outdid themselves. I thought Mary Poppins mer selection was huge but it's no comparison. I hope to get an autographed poster and water bottle.
I don't know if this has been asked, but is there a rush or SRO policy?
I really want to see the show now. Do you think it'll be sold out if I wait till Im in NY next weekend? I hate buying tickets online. I get there on Thursday, and I am open to get tickets for that night, Fri., or any of the Sat. performances.
