I edited my post. Sorry I didn't write edit. Paranoid much though.
Just a concerned citizen. And it still states you last updated it 1 minute before egghumor's post. I don't really care. Just pointing it out.
It says when you post not update. Concerned over what?

When you hit the reply button it shows the actual time the post was edited. For some reason (although it didn't used to be that way) when it shows an edit in the thread it gives the same time as the post was made.
Thank you for the clarification Phyllis. I apologize ChenoKahn.
And concerned about the huge number of people on these boards who have 2+ identities who do nothing but make ridiculous posts to stir the pot.
I swear I'm here to discuss theatre. I try not to stir the pot.
I understand people want to see BOM, I saw it and enjoyed it very much However, why does everyone need to see it ASAP?!? People will get to see the production eventually, they just have to wait.
“And if it weren't for "stupid ideas" there wouldn't be tv, internet, cars, or the Bible.”
Really?! The Bible?! WTF? That has got to be one of the lamest things I’ve ever read on this board.
“I'm new too and people make comments telling me I'm Steel Pier Fan. It gets really annoying.”
It’s because your posts are annoying, ChenoKhan. In the other thread you were calling me out for not being honest. You were proven wrong. You said you’ve been watching on the boards for a while and know what everyone says about everyone.
You don’t. But you come across as a newbie smart ass, which usually means ‘sock puppet’.
“I swear I'm here to discuss theatre. I try not to stir the pot.”
And to that , I call BS.
I never said I know what everyone says about everyone. I said I know what people say about some people. Calm down.

"I said I know what people say about some people"
Yes, me. And you were wrong.
I'm calm as hell. I'm just pointing out what a sock puppet you are.

"why does everyone need to see it ASAP?!?"
You're new to the wealthy culture of the west?

I can see some of the less elitist ones uniting, definitely.
The op's sense of entitlement is uniquely American.
That is such a fvcking uncouth thing to say.

That was called for.
All these people with no goddamn class. Makes me want to barf all over myself.
It's only a matter of time before BOM will have more than one company... Didn't they already announce a tour for next year?
Poppins and Lion King and Wicked all have at least 3 companies playing everywhere (NYC, Tour, West End, Asia? idk).
I understand that it's silly to have 2 BOMs playing in NYC (it really is) but 3 BOMs playing around the world/USA is very possible
Do you guys think The Book of Mormon will be accepted/liked internationally? or is it just a NY kind of show for an American audience already used to South Park type humor?
At the risk of getting back on topic...
I know we aren't all busness people here but its true that you make money by supplying what is in demand.
Um, no. You make money by increasing demand. You do THAT by limiting supply. It's basic economics. By staying in a small theater that sells out nightly, producers are keeping demand high.
Also, no one here is objecting to the subtle nuance in your post. We're objecting to the very premise.
Well, if it will really cure cancer I'm all for it.
I would also like to suggest that each theater the show plays in employ multiple casts. That way they can have a performace every 3 hours.
Also, maybe the creative team could consider cutting the whole Uganda part and reduce the running time to approx. 40 minutes.
More shows that way.
This thread serves to remind me (and I think my history is correct) that back in 1928 there was such a huge demand for tickets to the original production of Show Boat there was talk of creating a second New York company. It never happened. Show Boat ran 572 performances, a fraction of what this may run.
I will say nothing further as I may already have said too much.

This is the stupidest idea I've ever heard.
Frickin sub-human moron.
There is a market for it on the moon though
