Helmed by Rob Ashford, it will go to Boston before transferring to New York in the spring.
Boston's getting a lot this year. First Oh, Kay!, and now this.
Apathetic about this one... it could either be very good, or pretty awful.

Posted: 4/7/08 at 4:57pmOh, Kay! shouldn't be put in the same category as this overdone ego project for Lerners' daughter. I saw her awful Camelot tour, yick! Oh, Kay! has a wonderful score and is in more than capable hands.

yay! and Bostonians will be the first to see this show!!!
A spring 2009 Broadway arrival will follow a fall 2008 tryout in Boston.
EXPECT A FULL 10/10 REPORT from me- the 1st day with the whole nine yards....I heard another MUSICAL will be tried out here too!!!
Hopefully- We will have TWO musicals here!!!!

When he keeps holding that high note at the end of each verse "I'LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Go home with Bonnie Jean!" Electrifying!

Harry Connick, Marshall Set for Gershwin Musical: Casting notices reveal that Harry Connick Jr. will star in Joe DiPietro's update of Gershwin's 1926 musical Oh, Kay!, directed by his Pajama Game helmer Kathleen Marshall. Scheduled to premiere in Boston this fall for a pre-Broadway tryout, the updated musical will feature classic Gershwin songs, while also adding scenes in which the lead plays the piano, talks about how much he loves New Orleans, and dates a callow young woman who can't emotionally separate from her sexless gay roommate.
