I know WEST SIDE STORY is announcing a production but it still seems iffy to me.
The two biggies are:
BILLY ELLIOT and EQUUS
The days of London tranfers are back.

Posted: 7/1/08 at 3:39amOh, and there was that Playbill article about a "Broadway-bound" Dirty Dancing but I highly doubt that would reach the Main Stem this season, if and when it finally gets here.

Posted: 7/1/08 at 3:41amIs 9 to 5 officially going to Broadway? If so, what theater do you think it will be at?

Posted: 7/1/08 at 4:53am9 to 5 is offically going to be on Broadway this season. However, we don't know the theatre yet. From what I heard they wanted the Hirschfeld but Two Cities beat them to it. Interestingly enough. Two cities wanted the Marquis but they couldn't take it because Drowsy was there then cry Baby.

Is 'Merrily We Roll Along' 2009-2010? Damn, I'm not going to have a Sondheim revival to root for at the various awards ceremonies next year.
Guess I'll be cheering for 'West Side Story' then! ^_^

Is WHITE CHRISTMAS at the Marquis considered a new musical, or a theatrical event, like THE GRINCH? I saw it in L.A. and it was great!
And since that is limited, maybe 9 TO 5 could squeeze in there.

This seems like substantially more musicals than last season.
Last season we had 4 revivals and 7 new musicals(ITH,X,CB,PS,YF,ACA,GD). It looks like 5 revivals and 11 new ones.
Or do most seasons look like they'll have a lot at this point in the year, then for various reasons less open?
