I'm so excited to see that Avenue Q will be playing just 30 minutes from me. It's my favorite (currently running) show so I've been joking with my friends since I heard about the tour that if it ever came remotely close I'd be at every performance. I'm just bummed that I have to wait a year to do so. lol

I'm on board for subscriptions. I think most people will be with a season like this. YAY!

Yeah....Camelot is not a favorite of mine either.
During the announcement ceremony they said that White Christmas apparently played all season somewhere in California and that this year they decided to tour it instead. No word on cast or reviews. HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS???
The rest of the season looks great, though, and we renewed our season's tickets already!!!

So glad you guys are getting "Wicked." Looks like those of us in Louisville, KY will have to wait yet again. Maybe in 2008-2009.

This makes me so excited, especially since I've been going to Shea's since I was little. It's such a beautiful theatre, I love it there. And it's so great that they're finall getting big shows again. I mean, what a season! When Phantom was there it got a lot of business, and The Lion King brought even more, but Wicked is going to be the one who wins, for sure.
I'm so buying a season ticket. Watch out now.

You have a good season, despite being near NYC.

I suppose I unintentionally "DOOOMED" this thread to oblivion by putting the word "BUFFALO" in the title, but out of curiousity I'll ask again....
Does anyone else out there have a local "Broadway" theater season that is very similar (or very different) from the one that was posted for Buffalo, NY above?
I thought it might be interesting to see what the various touring producers were planning in other areas.
Thanks!

We're getting SPELLING BEE and SNORE-A-LOT in Detroit, but the rest of ours are different.
I saw WHITE CHRISTMAS in Detroit last year. It did really well here and was a great replacement for the Rockettes. I really loved the show. It had a lot of 'old school' charm! (and LOTS of dancing)

Toronto's season isn't exactly the same.
Mirvish:
Dirty Dancing
Sweeney Todd
Twelve Angry Men
Nicholas Nickleby - Part 1
Nicholas Nickelby - Part 2
The Ha'Penny Bridge - The Musical
Hummingbird:
Edward Scissorhands
Camelot
White Christmas
Avenue Q, Spelling Bee, and Drowsy are rumored but no specific dates or theatres have been announced. There are also rumors of My Fair Lady. As always with these early announcements of seasons (and shows which may have not even begun to tour), shows and dates are subject to change.

bare_nakedlady, do you know when the Wharton Center is going to announce their 2007/2008 season? The wait is killing me!

Justchillin, I was wondering about that myself. I have a friend who works there and I still haven't heard.

After all the buzz that's been going on it's almost sure that Drowsy is coming to the Elgin Theatre in September. As for Spelling Bee and Avenue Q you're right... it's rumored. They have the rights for these shows but contracts haven't been signed yet.

Kewl! Glad to see we have a lot to look forward to here. Plan on seeing DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS next week, but I am undecided about SPAMALOT in May...

broadwayfanatic, it will depend on the timing for the Elgin. It will only be available when the TIFF ends and up til mid November.
I, personally, would love to see Drowsy at the Bluma Appel, which would be perfect for that show, but unfortunately that isn't possible.

Thanx for the Toronto update, ErinRebecca!
Living in Bufalo, I get up there for shows all the time.
Looks like I'll have to make plans for Sweeney and 12 Angry Men!
