Thank you James and BWW. I was very happy to finally get my chance to see, The Drowsy Chaperone Tour, finally! We actually flew out to LA to see it because we were tired of waiting for our chance to see it live. Jonathan Crombie is such a funny actor and I really enjoy his take on the MIC. I'm just surprised you got him to sit down that long! I'm sure he would have loved to get up and act out the whole show over again for you! He's a pretty expressive kind of guy and that is what makes his performances so wonderful to watch on stage. He can play both funny and serious characters with such conviction.
It's been quite a treat to see Jonathan working here in the U.S. and I hope someone snatches him up here for another production before he tries to head back to Toronto. Though he has played some great characters on stage lately for the Tarragon Theatre which I enjoyed very much. I'm just happy to see him get more exposure here in the States since I have enjoyed his work for many years now. He's doing a great job playing the MIC and I hope more people catch him in this role before he has to leave the Tour. He is just too funny and it's fun to see a show where the crowd is laughing so much. It's not my usual Theater experience but a very welcome one.
I enjoyed too seeing the new cast working on the Tour. Nancy Opel has a wonderful voice and she is such a character. I enjoyed her part of the interview too. What a talented and entertaining group they put all together for this show. I wasn't disappointed at all and I am looking forward to next week when I can see the show again! Thanks for sharing this interview with us.
Thanks, Fromage. You are so descriptive and clearly "get it." It amazes me sometimes that people just don't understand what this show is really about, but you do.
Your enthusiasm for the show makes me want fly out there and see it again!!! (Hmmm. Maybe Seattle!)

I'd say for some, the messages might be a little difficult for them to swallow? Even still, I will always welcome a catchy song to carry along while I'm in the trenches fighting for what I believe is still good about America and the World I hope to leave behind. We are however, still a young Country and we have so much yet to learn about honest compassion.
We talk a lot about the "fluff" and "glamor" of the show but that is just a cover for messages most writers want to send out. I think, when it is all wrapped up in a pretty package, tied with a neat bow, it often gets more peoples' attention.
Most Musical's address social issues. I just find, in a time when people are searching for hope and a "second wind", Musicals give that to us. With a lovely song and a few peppy steps!
Though many will see a Musical as purely a form of escapism, others will take from it, hopefully, a little more insight. Updated On: 7/17/08 at 04:08 PM
Yes, I think it ended it's Broadway time a little too soon but unfortunately, it was such a big theater to have to fill all at once. I just missed their having the bigger set to move around better on the Tour. I actually believe it will make it's way back towards New York next year but with a different cast. In a perfect world, successful Broadway shows, would have DVD's for sale so that we can preserve those remarkable moments forever. ***************
Does anyone know who is taking James Moye's place as Aldopho? I think I was told but I forgot? Thanks in advance.

Miss Pennywise, I would want to see the show in Seattle if I could. It would be nice to see the Tour before it goes through a whole new cast change perhaps? Though the new cast might be fun too? I am just very delighted to see that some of the critics were just plain wrong about Drowsy. It is not only continuing on with an anticipated new cast, it's going to be shown in Japan and Australia too! Very far from being forgotten or found collecting dust on some obscure, long forgotten shelf.
I think it would be fun to see it played out with High School Students. It's so campy and sarcastic.
