She seems like such a nice person! I love it when people are outrageously talented and still have great personalities. I really think she deserves all the attention she's getting. Maybe she'll perform in a leg of the tour that will most likely be happening after this show closes on Broadway. Or, as other people have said, maybe we'll see her as Mary Poppins. She could definately pull that off.

Again...WOW...AMAZING!
I've always thought she would make an OUTSTANDING "Dorothy" in "Wizard of Oz"
^ Ooh, Husk, that IS a good idea!
Two roles she said she's love to play (when appropriate) are the Witch in Into The Woods and Fanny in Funny Girl
She would kill as Fanny!
She obviously has the comedic chops, and it certainly sounds like she has the voice, and if she did Evita than... damn.
She would be wonderful.

She reminds me of Mariska Hargitay.
*Cough*EvitaRevival*Cough*
that thing she does with curling her lips in while she sings is SO distracting. now im not knocking her talent or performance, but thats just...i dunno? ive never heard of ANY vocal technique where people do that
It's odd! I wonder if it's a technique, or just something she has to do in order to sing?

i know a lot of people that do that, it's not really a "technique" so much as just the way a person sings and moves their mouth. I don't really think little things like that should affect someone's opinion of how good she is, facial expressions are unimportant when she has a voice that good.
That's not what they were saying, Lizzya.
Anyway, go to YouTube and search "Anneliese Van Der Pol" then click on the the "Alone in the Hallways" video. It's cute, and shows her potential.

I never said that that's what they were saying, don't make assumptions.

Then who were you talking about when you said this:
I don't really think little things like that should affect someone's opinion of how good she is
?
Raviolisun is right: I was just saying that I wonder why she does it, not that it makes me dislike her Belle.
we can never please lizzya9. im so done with you.
now you seem to not be enjoying things on your home turf.

please don't be mean, I never did anything. That sentence (I don't really think little things like that should affect someone's opinion of how good she is) wasn't the basis of my whole statement, and I never was accusing anyone of disliking her. I just said that people shouldn't do it in general, I wasn't directing that at any one person or saying that anyone did do it.
back to the original topic:
I think she is the only Belle so far that has been able to hold a candle to Susan Egan.
I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Annaliese in her pre-Raven days when she did Evita in Buena Park. She played our Evita at the age of 16. Believe me, she was fierce. In her interview she said how she wanted to go out for the mistress and instead they offered her Eva. I remember her and I talking about it (and they offered my then girlfriend at the time, the Mistress). It was an awesome outdoor production and it was also in the heat of summer, so it was hot. I remembered how she would do her impressions of Judy Garland, because there ARE certain instances where she sounds spot on. I'm glad to see her doing so well and not a bit surprised that they offered her this role. It's perfect for her. As I mentioned in a previous post, I have the video of her playing Eva....I just need to figure out how to load it from VCR to computer. lol She went to the same performing arts high school as Susan Egan and it's funny that two generations from the same school originated and ended the role. GO ANNALIESE!!
