OH MY GOD YOU GUYS, but this looks just awful ! What producer in their right mind would show those horrendous clips ? Its looks like dancing school recital choreogrpahy, or worse. Poor Dan Knetches (sp) is not looking like a very promising big time choreographer at all (Spelling Bee, nothwithstanding, but then again...)
It may have worked as a camp cabaret act for a week.
The new CARRIE has finally arrived.

They know it is campy and funny! They come right out and say it! I think it looks like it is going to be a fun night from start to finish.
Mary Testa is going to be FIERCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it looks pretty awful and boring to boot. But I guess in labeling it as "intentional camp" they feel they can get away with anything.
But what do I know. I thought the clips from LEGALLY BLONDE looked hideous too.

Well then can you pick me up one of those many freebies you say will be out there? Everyone seems to get these comps and things and I've yet to ever figure that stuff out!

Posted: 5/10/07 at 12:48amI think I will wait for clips from the actual production. That rehearsal footage didn't do much for me. It will be interesting though to see what changes they have made from the movie. And I love the music from the movie. Wasn't impressed with how the songs were sung in that clip. It's just in rehearsals, so who knows, but that footage did not make me want to see the show!

I think it looks like it's going to be absolutely terrific. But, it can be hard to judge based on video of a rehearsal room performance. If the elements come together the way I am guessing they will, it's be gonna be a huge hit. Kerry sounds sublime singing those songs.
"Evil Woman" is an Electric Light Orchestra song that is not in Xanadu, so it seems they are both adapting the songs from the movie and adding stuff from the ELO/Jeff Lynne catalog. However, it's always possible that Lynne is writing new songs for the musical. I can't wait to hear more about this.
